More about Dresser Palmer House Savannah

Great historic guesthouse

by TripAdvisor Member Deauville

Stayed at the Dresser Palmer House in Savannah, Ga. last weekend. The house was beautiful and clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast is superb! Most rooms have a romantic gas fireplace.
Savannah is a great historical and "artsy" city. I highly reccommend a trip there and at the Dresser Palmer House.

The best!

I can totally recommend the Dresser Palmer House when staying in Savannah, Georgia. It's location is ideal, one block from Forsyth Park. All rooms are beautifully restored and decorated. The staff is always professional, warm and helpful. We had a fine breakfast each morning and nice wine and snacks in the afternoon. It gave us a great chance to meet other guests from all over the United States and Great Britain. We were within walking distance of the entire historic district. We talked about how much fun it would be to rent a house and live in the area for a while. By the end of the week we stayed, we felt we had done just that, by staying at the Dresser Palmer House. On cooler days, we could sit inside by the gas fireplace and on warmer days we enjoyed the wide porch and wicker rockers. Our week in Savannah was totally enhanced by staying at this bed and breakfast.

We had one of the most lovely travel experiences staying at the Dresser Palmer House in Savannah. Sadly, we were only there for one night, but that one night we felt like honored guests! The house and rooms are beautiful, the owner very gracious and the breakfast cook talented. We were greeted the afternoon we checked in with wine, cheese and fruit. The owner offered to make reservations for dinner or to set up tours for us. After a chilly evening out, we came back to find coffee, tea and hot chocolate availible to drink by the fire in the parlor. The next morning we had an amazing breakfast! It spoiled me for staying in a hotel where you are just a person spending money and customer service tends to be a thing of the past. I highly recommend the Dresser Palmer House if you wish to feel like you are truly on vacation, having someone cater to you, without having to spend hundreds of dollars!

Wonderful!

Having just returned from The Dresser Palmer House, we highly recommend it to all who visit Savannah. We have already made our reservations for next year.

Upon arrival we were immediately struck by the beauty of the elegant old twin house both inside and out. The Dresser Palmer is beautifully run by a marvelous, friendly and attentive staff who quickly make you feel at home.

The breakfast are wonderful to look at and even better to eat. The evening cheese and wine get togethers give guests a chance to chat before running off to one of the many great restaurants in Savannah.

Our room was The Mercer Room. It was a lovely large room with a cozy sitting area in front of a gas fireplace. Three windows faced Gaston Street with a veranda where the peace of a quiet residential street can be enjoyed after a busy day.

Just one block from Forsyth Square, The Dresser Palmer is within walking distance of just about everything to do and see in the city. However, there is ample free parking available to guests if you want to drive to sites such as Bonaventure Cemetary or any of the forts on Tybee Island.

We had a wonderful stay which, unfortunately ended too soon. We almost did not submit this recommendation because we really don’t want to share such a beautiful and comfortable Bed and Breakfast.

Terrific Accommodations!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Wonderful attention from their doting but unobtrusive staff, great location (just a block away from Forsythe Park and close to many of Savannah's historic squares), attractive rooms (the parlor with its 15 foot Christmas tree was beautifully appointed), and scrumptuous breakfasts.

Will absolutely stay there again!

Perfect weekend stay

by TripAdvisor Member JulieQ65

My daughter & I stayed for two nights while visiting the Savannah College of Art & Design. Location was so much more convenient than on River Street. I've never felt so completely at home in a B&B. Friendliest, most helpful staff, and breakfast was wonderful. We couldn't have been happier with our accommodations! We will go back to see our new friends -- Dee Dee, Sam, Ron & David!

5 Star!

We have done a lot of traveling over the years but have never found a place to be a great as this! The hospitality was superb! The staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were wonderful and the gourmet breakfast was to die for! The staff went above and beyond to make it the best stay possible like serving cheese, crackers and wine nightly. I would highly recommend to anyone.

My girlfried and I stayed at the Dresser Palmer this weekend for an early Valentine. We had a great time. The house and staff were very accomidating. We will stay there again on our next visit to Savannah.

Charming Bed and Breakfast

by TripAdvisor Member boredtra

It's a beautiful home with an extremely friendly staff. The pictures you see online don't do it justice. Everything is much more beautiful in person. Breakfast was delicious, and although previous reviews say this, I don't recall seeing any grits or a "tip basket" anywhere. I would definitely visit again.

Great Stay

Great small hotel. Very kind personalized service. All questions answered with aplomb and consideration. If we are ever in Savannah again we would most definitely stay here.
