More about Hampton Inn Savannah - Historic District
Great Business hotel!!!
by TripAdvisor Member greenespace
If you are in Savannah on business, I strongly recommend this hotel. The high speed internet access worked perfectly and was FREE. The staff was as good as the Ritz-Carlton, and I mean that. 411 information had accidentally given me the number to the midtown Hampton location when I wanted this one. When I got to the hotel at 11:30 at night, they told me they not only didn't have a reservation, but were fully booked as well. Not to worry though, the gentleman at the front desk started to work and before I knew it, I had a room and my reservation had been cancelled at the other, lower priced hotel. And best of all, my new room was at the same rate! Everyone was friendly and accomodating. And, if you like to jog, you're just a block away from Bull Street, where you can run three miles surrounded by some of the most beautiful and historic scenery anywhere.
Add in the fantastic location off of Bay Street and the rooftop swimming pool and view, for the money, this place simply cannot be beat. In short, I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here any time I'm in town on business.
An uncommon Hampton
by TripAdvisor Member jimlent
A pleasantly upscaled Hampton Inn in the heart of Savannah. Across the street and up the hill from River Street (where there is all that you could want to ammuse yourself with--shops, sights, food, drink). Our fall trip to Savannah was a delight thanks, in part, to the personable and helpful people at the Hampton. Definitely worth checking into.
Nice place Nice Location

This is a nice Hampton Inn. Quite expensive as Hampton Inns go but it is because of the location, I am sure. The room was very nice with a nice view but it had a mildew odor which I found offensive. I did not ask to move. My sister had another room and that one was much nicer and had no odor.
The breakfast area is very nice and well kept up.
My New Home Away from Home

Wow!
What can I say. My hubby and I stayed at the Hampton Inn in the historic district of Savannah and it was absolutly fabulous. The accomodations, breakfast and fitness room were great but what really made our trip were the people.
I had to return the following week to Savannah on a business trip, so I chose the Hampton Inn again.
Upon my arrival, they welcomed me by remembering my name. I am sure that I wasn't the only one staying at that hotel and for them to remember by name 5 days after my last visit was just amazing. They really made you feel at home and were very hospitable and professional every step of the way.
I will DEFINETLY choose that Hampton Inn again!
Great Value

Went for a week and was impressed. Good breakfast and room. Happy hour bar very fair pricing. Friendly staff. But the best was proximity to River St (1 block) and rooftop view for cocktails and sunset.
Beautiful Hampton Inn
by TripAdvisor Member rightboy
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of all the riverfront activities. There is parking provided, for a fee, both across the street and underground beneath the hotel. The exterior of the hotel blends nicely with the other buildings in the area, and the interior is a lovely upgrade from a standard Hampton Inn. The lobby and breakfast room are particularly attractive. One note of caution -- this is not a quiet hotel. Rooms fronting the street are subject to all type of street noise, and the walls between rooms are very thin. Overall a very attractive hotel in a great position.
Great location

My husband took me to Savannah for my Christmas present and what a great present that was. The Hampton Inn Historic District was the perfect place to stay. The location was great. It was just across the street from the river front, with all the eating places and shops.
The staff was very helpful and had lots of tips about where to eat and place to go. The room was average but sufficent. The breakfast was good and plentiful.
We will stay at the Hampton on any return trips.
Nice, But Very Noisy Street
by TripAdvisor Member StlBob
We checked in on Feb 27 around 7:00pm and the only room left with king bed non smoking was 2nd floor street side. The street in front of this hotel is State Route 80, very noisy. At 5:30 am BIG trucks fly down this very busy street. Dump, 18 wheeler's,semi's loaded with steel ,etc.If you like to sleep in then stay somewhere else other than Bay Street. The hotel is very nice and clean.
If you can get a room on the back side 5th,6th,7th floor then I would try it. It's hard to believe Savannah will let such heavy traffic come right through the Historic district.
Great Visit

This is probably the best located tourist hotel in Savannah. It is just across the street from the waterfront, and half a block from one of the beautiful squares. The price was reasonable. The hotel was clean, with new matresses that slept great. The employees were all friendly and helpful. Overall, the experience was made the trip to Savannah a most enjoyable one.
