very nice!

We booked a room here last minute and ended up staying here during our whole trip. Very close to historic district and the river shopping and restaurant area. The concierge service was the best thing about the place, they were EXTREMELY helpful. I'd recommend it to anyone and will stay there the next time we go to Savannah.

A nice mid-range hotel with a good location

We stayed at the Hampton Inn during our recent visit to Savannah. It is not the fanciest hotel in Savannah, but has a good location, reasonable price, free breakfast buffet, and a nice swimming pool. It is very family-friendly.

Our room had a king-sized bed plus a couch, on which a child could sleep. The bathrooms were clean, large, and up-to-date, and the rooms have flat-screen TVs with about 50 cable channels. Our favorite part of the hotel was the rooftop swimming pool, which was a godsend since the the weather was very hot when we were there (over 95 degrees). The free towels were tiny, but the pool had plenty of chairs and the water was cool.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served buffet-style until 10AM.

The hotel is conveniently located on Bay Street, which puts it within a 5-minute walk of River Street and a number of the more famous houses (Juliet Low, Owens-Thomas, and Davenport houses).

Hampton Inn Historic District

We stayed in Hampton Inn at Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in the Historic District. The location near to historical places of interest. It is also a block away from the bus tour rides, and the Savannah History Museum & Visitors Center. This hotel is nice, clean and comfortable. It includes a complimentary breakfast and the staff are helpful. There is a swimming pool , health room, and a breakfast area. The lounge is nicely decorated with a fireplace. The parking is ample although a parking fee is an additional to the hotel charges. The only negative aspect in this hotel is available no food service late night (say 10pm onwards).

Downtown Option

This hotel is rather new and seems to be popular with the bus tours visiting the area.

Savannah's BEST Hotel concierge

The hotel itself is very nice. The lobby has dark hardwood floors and Savannah Brick walls that make you feel like you just walked into the past. The rooms were clean and comfy. The bathroom was clean and the showerhead actually had some decent water pressure. The hotel is on Bay Street across from River Street which is where the bars and restaurants are located. It's also on the edge of the historic housing districts so you have a great option to take the tour trolleys or stroll around the squares at your leisure. I look forward to staying there again and highly recommend it.

Unique Quality: The best part of the hotel was the concierge. She was so helpful and friendly and I was convinced she knew everyone in town. See her for all your tour scheduling and restaurant recommendations. She's got a few discounts she'll share with you. She was also the hospitality hour hostess in the evenings. Don't hesitate to park in the garage across the street! The hotel charges $10 to park in their garage but the one across the street is cheaper and FREE on the weekends.

More about Hampton Inn & Suites Savannah Historic District

Very good option

by TripAdvisor Member BrownbearBeats

This hotel is conveniently located in the Historic District - the place to stay if you are there as a tourist. The hotel itself is well kept - clean and comfortable. The pool is also very nice, and there is a whirlpool and gym attached. Free internet is provided as well. I would recommend it, however, I will choose one of the B&Bs in the old mansions when I am there next time.

Savannah is absolutely beautiful, and not to be missed if you are in the area. It is very, very special!

A great place to stay

by TripAdvisor Member JEandHR

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, both stays were perfect. All the staff are really professional and friendly and our suite was very clean and comfortable. It is within walking distance of all the key places but does not have as much traffic noise as the front facing rooms of the hotels on East Bay. We would have no hesitation in recommending it.
