If money is not tight, why not try an elegant historic Inn called Magnolia Place Inn? This beautifully restored Victorian has the ideal location...in the Historic District on magnificent Forsyth Park!
It only has 13 period-furnished guest rooms and wide verandas which overlook the park. As you can see in the photograph, it has magnificent architectural features and lovely grounds.
I was surprised when I saw the contemporary artwork in such an antique place; however, I loved the combination.
What a location...we walked to some of the restaurants, the antique shops, the art galleries, and, of course, the Park!
We were told that Magnolia Place is the "adopted home of author John Berendt of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil".
Unique Quality: The service is so fantastic here. Each morning we could enjoy a full (not continental) breakfast in the lovely parlor or in the privacy of our room. In the evening, we were give complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres in the elegant pale yellow parlor.
Best of all, Port and pralines is part of the turn down service. Even though everything is elegant, magnolia Place is simply charming, gracious, and, best of all, quite comfortable.
(Rates range from $89.00 to $195 per night per room).
