In Savannah, take a river boat...

In Savannah, take a river boat cruise to see dolphins and to go to Tybee island where the best beach of Savannah is situated. Walk around the streets and admire the historical buildings. There is a great market also in town worth checking out.Picture : Savannah by night
Southern Hospitality
by kidkilowatt
I have never actually ventured into the South, but after my trip to Savannah, I can tell you that Southern hospitality is no joke. Our trip was pleasant from the cab driver that took us from the airport to our hotel, all the way to the cab ride home. Everyone in Savannah seems to be pleasant and willing to help you out should you need help.
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
by Dutchnatasja
Read, before you go to Savannah, the novel "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil". The point reading this book is to acquaint you with the places and characters from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. It’s fun for everybody who has reading the book and wants to see its printed pages come to life. Some place you're are going to see along the way are the Mercer House, Jim Williams Antique Shop, Armstrong House, Clary’s café, Hamilton-Turner House and Club One. There are about 22 places in Savannah that you recognize in the book. Go walking around in Savannah and search for these places. It’s a nice way to discover Savannah.
Live Guitar
by myway5510 about Bayou Cafe
Wonderful little bar that you have to walk up an enourmous flight of steps to get into, and another flight of steps to play pool or arcade games. The staff is friendly and the live music explosive. The address to the bar is Abercorn Street but it is actually located on the corner of Abercorn and River street. Don't try to just drive down Abercorn looking for it you'll never find it without asking a local. However, walking down River Street you will bump right into it
Good, Simple Southern Food
by WulfstanTraveller about Sweet Potatoes
This is a great, simple, family-oriented restaurant. It serves good Southern food with lots of great vegetables. It's inexpensive and a great place to take a family with kids. It's also great for people who are vegetarians, or who simply love vegetables, and want good, solid, Southern cooking. Their vegetable dishes are numerous, quite varied, and outstanding. They serve numerous different sweet potato dishes, with the choices varying from time to time. We had several and they were all great. The lemon collards and corn pudding, were outstanding, and the chicken and okra were also great.
