Ocean swimming
by BruceDunning
This is almost a side light of activities to do on the island. Besides the things to do around the Cloister, there are a variety of sports activities. But when there, at least once get into the swim of things. The main beach area is by the Cloister hotel, and exclusive for residents and hotel stays. There are no public beaches here to my knowledge. Some homeowners have their own beaches, while others have marsh views and a serene setting. Sunsets are to remember.

"Homes are for viewing on a trip"
Homes are of the luxury end and mostly established for the seclusion of the Southern haves in old money of new business wealth. Probably one of the more elegant on the East southern coast. If yo come to rent a "cabin" or stay at the Cloister, be ready. Nightly rooms at Cloister average around $500+, and cabins $1200-3000 a night.
The Cloister commenced in 1928 and was designed by Adam Mizner. The bridge across to get there is a site to take in, called Sidney Lanier BRidge after the poet of fame for the area.
"Homes are here to enjoy"
It seems like the more people build and rebuild, the more plush the homes get. My guess is the average "home" is around $3 million now and climbing. GEt in fast and get the appreciation.
