Convenient and Affordable
There is a very fine hotel inside Stone Mountain Memorial Park, but it is a bit expensive. For about one third the price I got a very good room at the Stone Mountain Days Inn, just a half mile down the road. It is a typical moderate range motel and better than some. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with more amenities than I personally need: cable television, telephone, wireless accsess, complimentary breakfast, etc. Numerous restaurants are nearby.
Unique Quality: The outdoor swimming pool at this motel was exceptionally nice. It is just a basic swimming pool, but it location sets it apart. Located at the back of motel property, and surrounded on three sides by large hardwood trees, the pool provides a semi-private spot where the kids and I enjoyed a refreshing dip after a long, hot day of exploring Stone Mountain Memorial Park.
