How could you visit Georgia and not experience a Hooters restaurant?
Well, Valdosta has one right off Interstate 75 and it does serve good food and has fast, friendly service.
Valdosta also has a university (Valdosta State), a Six Flags amusement theme park and plenty of agriculture and fresh fruit & vegatables. I enjoyed a stopover and speaking with locals about the area and its changes since I first saw it many years ago.
While the area has changed in appearance, the people have not--still friendly, still fun and still honest as the day is long.
