This is a family owned restaurant located on the grounds of Waiakea Villas. The restaurant is upstairs and overlooks the ponds near Hilo Lagoon. Try to sit by a window if possible. Prices are very reasonable. Everything I have ever had was good.

Somebody mentioned $99 helicopter ride, which company is that? I cannot find anywhere a helicopter ride for $99.
Also, we are on big island for 8 days, what activities can you suggest? We will be in Hilton Village.

You could go to www.spotlighthawaii.com and view the Big Island Gold ebook. There is info about all the sites on Hawaii and there are coupons in the book. When you get to Hawaii look for the books at the airport, there are usually some pretty good coupons for tours, breakfast etc.
I stayed in Kona on the west side of the Big Island and it was very nice to go to the east. Hilo area is one the most wet places in the world (at least I've been told that by locals) and everything I saw was *green*.
The custom of placing a flower behind your ear is a great one. It is much easier to see a flower than a ring finger. It is very important to note which ear it is placed. If it's behind the left ear, it means the girl is married or involved. If it's behind her right ear, this means she is unattached.
I was always forgetting which was which until someone said "A good way to remember is that the left is also the hand you wear a wedding ring on. " Good point!
The Kukui nut tree is the official state tree of Hawaii.
For centuries Hawaiians have used the oil from the Kukui nut tree to relieve and protect their skin from the salt water and drying winds on the islands.
They are now making skin products for retail.
Hilo is small town and friendly - always give out smiles and 'talk-story' with the locals. Be sensitive to Hawaiian sites and respect the aina (land) which is most important to the Hawaiian people. There are many ethnic groups here and if you have a problem with mixed races you will not be comfortable here.
