    Kamehameha Beach Hotel... I didn't stay at this hotel, but it comes highly recommended, and is located right in the Heart of Kailua, and within walking distance of shopping, nightlife, resturants, art gallery, beaches, open air markets etc...

    • This hotel was great in the 80's, but very poor condition now. New owners are starting a $25 million renovation according to news release of 01-07-09. Enlarging pool and complete replacement of bathrooms, furniture, carpets, etc. Severe mold problem will be corrected. Hotel recently covered by huge bags and exterminated. It was the largest bagging in the state of Hawaii and covered both buildings. New owners promise to restore it to reflect more of the Hawaiian culture.
    It is a great location in downtown Kona. Close to many activities. Pictures on their website show beautiful rooms already, but that's missleading, from all the bad comments I've been reading. Should be completed in June 2009.

    Will be refurbished to reflect old Hawaiian culture. Part is on Sacred grounds.

    It's a great hotel for the value with the coupon I have. There are cultural activities within the hotel and has shops and dining within. I wouldn't consider this a luxury hotel but it's great for the price and location. Close to everything! They also have a business center to check email and fax.     This is the only oceanfront hotel in the heart of Kailua Kona Town. The beach is great for children because it's not too deep and it's actually quite relaxing and enjoyable. The canoe paddlers practice right outside of the hotel.
