Sea Mountain: Ka'u's Only Hotel

Sea Mountain is set in a hidden location miles away from everything. If you have your heart set on old Hawaii in a modern light, this is the place for you. Sea Mountain sits on the southern edge of the Big Island just a few steps away from Punalu'u Black Sand Beach (one of the only ones left in the islands). The bungalow style resort has a variety of things to offer including golf, diving, and kayaking. Sea Mountain is primarily a vacation home rental kind of place.

Unique Quality: This location is in between Hilo and Kona by way of the southern road. This is the only hotel/resort on the southern coast aside from a few B&Bs.

Sea Mountain does have a strict cancellation policy which will have you shelling out more than if you were to stay. In addition to that, smoking is not allowed on property in accordance with new state laws. You will be asked to put it out. They also do not accept credit cards which I find strange! Checks from US Banks are accepted and a $200 deposit is required. Payment will be deducted from the deposit. They do not accomidate more than 4 to one room. This may seem like asking alot but its a small price to pay for a high quality resort such as this.

7-25 Nights - $55-85 (per night)
