The charm of the Volcano House is its location at the edge of Kilauea Caldera, so if you choose to stay, plan on paying a bit extra to book one of the rooms with a crater view. The clean and comfortable rooms in the main building have period koa furniture. Dinner at the Ka 'Ohelo Room can stir romance, as can a walk in the cool crisp air, topped off with a nightcap sipped while nestling by an ohiawood fire in the lobby's stone fireplace.
