Castle Poipu Shores? Weather in April?
Aloha all,
Has anyone stayed at the Castle Poipu Shores? It is a 39-condo building with a pool directly over the rocky shore. Or at least that's what the only photo I can find shows. What's your experience there? Also, any comment on weather around the whole island in April? Mahalo
Florists, etc. in Kauai??
My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary at Castle Poipu Shores in July and I'd like to send them some goodies. Ideally, I'd like to have something waiting for them when they arrive -- wine, flowers, balloons, I don't know, something. Can anyone recommend services in Poipu?

Poipu Village is probably the best bet. There are many shops there. I believe if you go to www.poipubeach.org/shopping/ you will see some possibilities.

If you want a surprise waiting for them. I suggest contacting the Poipu Shores so they can actually have it waiting inside your parent's room. That is a worthy gift. If you call an outside service, they will have to somehow contact your parents for delivery. That would mean wasted time staying "home" waiting for delivery.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I called Castle Poipu Shores and they recommended a florist for me. My parents should have a gift basket waiting for them, complete with champagne & glasses, local fruit & flower leis. :)

Poipu Condos
My family is considering staying at one of the following condos in May/June:
1. Poipu Shores
2. Poipu Makai
3. Kuhio Shores
Any comments/recommendations or alternatives?

Aloha and Hi there, these are nice choices but be aware:
Poipu Shores only the master bedroom has air conditioning in some of the units
Poipu Makai is beachfront and some units have air conditioning none of the units have air conditioning
These are all great properties and I would not hesitate to stay in any of them but my husband who is sensitive to heat needs a place with air conditioning.
My choice would be in this order:
Poipu Shores
Poipu Makai
Kuhio Shores
You also might want to check the Poipu Plantation, they have 2 bedroom units and are a bit back from the beach, a more "laid back" feel. They offer a nice rate on their condos.

RE: Poipu Condos
All three of these are right on the water so you'll have great ocean views. Kuhio shores is down the road towards Lawai and is next to a great snorkeling spot, but not a great beach. Its a good walk or drive from there to get to Poipu Beach Park. Also the building is a generic brick and mortor apartment building that would fit into a street in any city - not a very resorty feel at all. Some units are updated and some are not.
Poipu Shores and Poipu Makai are in the same general area, just east of Poipu Beach Park and are a short walk away. Poipu Makai is very small - less than 10 units I think. Both have a smallish pool overlooking the water.
