Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa: Highly recommend the Hyatt on Ka'anapali
The Hyatt Regency Maui on the south end of Ka'anapali was spectacular. The flawlessly landscaped grounds did much to surround you with the island splendour. There are parrots, penguins, koi, hammocks, oceanfront massages, delicious food, plumeria and palm trees galore. And their pool area has been called the best on the entire island, with a huge main pool, a separate kid's play area, a rope bridge, a hot tub, a waterslide and a grotto bar. The food was superb, and the eating options are plentiful and add to the experience. There is even a mini shopping area with a Macy's. The Hyatt Regency is not by any means cheap, but we found it to be worth every penny.

Sheraton Maui Resort: Sheraton Maui Resort
A large, beautiful resort located right on the beach in Kaanapali. The rooms were quite large, modern and very clean. Each room (at least from what I could tell) had a full or at least partial ocean view and balconies complete with table and chair set from which to enjoy the breathtaking views. From the immaculately manicured lawns and the helpful staff, to the super comfy beds and the complementry bathrobes, staying at the Sheraton Maui was a luxury experience.
Unique Quality: Among the resort ammenities: an interconnected string of pools with varying depths from which you also have a great view of the oceanl; pool bars; a well-stocked gift shop; a koi pond; manicured lawns; and an immaculate beach. Spa lover? Opt for one of the spas outdoor massages. Walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Sheraton Maui: Great location in Kaanapali
I stayed here for 4 nights. It was quite enjoyable. I tried not to stay in the hotel too long. The activities booth was very helpful in planning stuff to do
Unique Quality: You enter the hotel on the 3rd flor and the rooms descend onto the beach. This is really big hotel located in a nice spot on the beach. The best feature is a bunch of rocks that people can go cliff jumping into the water from. The view outside is gorgeous(I guess as is any beach front view in Maui). There are lots of birds that gently wake you as the sun comes up. The pools are connected so you can go swimming through them. The service is good and the people are nice. There is kind of a touristy Mall walking distance away called "Whaler's Village"
