Base Camp: Quonset Hut Luxury

You wouldn't expect it on Kahoolawe, that Hawaiian island taken over by the US Military for bombing practice, but there is an air-conditioned quonset hut waiting for you with bunk-beds that have flat AND fitted sheets. The showers were hot, and the wind dries your clothes so quickly, that even though you've worn the same dirty pants for three days, your swimsuit is dry by the next day. The ex-navy(?) cook is awesome, and presents you with more than enough calories to replenish ones lost cleaning out invasive plants and planting natives.

TIP: DON'T eat everything offered or else you'll GAIN weight even though you're physically working much harder than usual. DO take a lower bunk if you get cold easily. DO swim in the ocean before bathing off the dirt (it makes showering easier). DON'T pull any loose wires sticking out of the ground.
