Plenty of Room!

We stayed a week at the Maui Banyan condos. Very nice, clean and quiet. We stayed in a one bedroom one bath unit with a partial ocean view. Our unit had its own washer/dryer, full size kitchen, couches, etc.

Unique Quality: The pool is nice and clean with a hot tub. There are also many BBQ's to to use. It would be nice to have a poolside bar, but you can bring your own.

Wonderful 10 nites at the Maui Banyan

by TripAdvisor Member Houston_TexasEdward

My friend and I spent ten wonderful nights at the
Aston Maui Banyan Condos in Kehei. We had a one
bedroom, two bath unit on the 4th floor. Our
oceanview (through the palm trees, in the distance)suite was very nice. After reading some reviews about roaches we were a little worried before we
arrived....but it was completely the opposite! The
kitchen was very clean and the large center island
was very usefull. The two bathrooms were always
kept spotless by the friendly maids. ( I remind you
to leave a daily tip for the maids, with a little Mahalo note to them...we left $3 a day- I was once
in the hotel business and it is just the correct thing
to do...) The front desk ladies were also very
friendly and helpful. The parking garage was good
,as it kept your car out of the hot sun-no charge for
parking. The only negative comment I can thing of
was the lack of air-conditioning. One room size
air-conditioner in the living room, which was suppose to cool the bedroom, 2 bathrooms, 1kitchen and the living room dining room area!
Well, we asked for a fan- and it was delivered to
our room to help spread around the cool air. It was
n't too bad after that.
All in all, we would stay there again. Very relaxing
vacation.

Hotel Room at Maui Banyan-Excellent Value

by A TripAdvisor Member

Just returned from a 10 night stay in a hotel room at the Aston Maui Banyan. Room is small, but perfectly adequate for two persons who will be out and about, most of the time. Accomodations were clean, staff friendly and outside grounds and pool areas impecable. Location in South Kihei, is close to an abundance of conveniences, including shops and restaurants. We consider this an excellent value for the money and would not hesitate to stay again on our next trip to Maui.

Aston at theMaui Banyan needs help

by TripAdvisor Member CalifTraveler

Just got back from a one week stay at the Maui Banyan and it was not all that nice of a stay, from the picture it looks good, but the rooms are very out dated and we had problems with cock roches so that left a very bad feeling about this place, one thing for sure the trip advisor is a good source of information this will be may second time using this web site to book a hotel and so far it has been good. I must say one of the writers did say they saw roches but i thought we would take a chance. Thanks Trip Advisor for the information.

Our room was terrible!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Decided to stay on this property after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and wished we hadn't. We only planned to stay at this property one night (9/29/04) to wash our clothes half-way through our trip and wish we hadn't. We do want to first say the girl that checked us in was pleasant and the other people we ran into on the property were pleasant....but our room was horrible!! When we first opened the door the smell of mold and fungus hit us. We think they had just tried to clean the disgusting carpet as it was still damp and still VERY dirty. We were grossed out to walk on it but decided to just put up with it as it was ONLY for 1 night.....that though turned out to be too much as the washer/dryer stackable was not the best and didn't really work that well and was very loud. The bed and the pullout sofa were very uncomfortable and everything in our suitcases and us smelled like the gross room when we left the next morning. Yuck!!!!! When reading the other reviews it seems others had much better luck than us at the Aston Maui Banyan.....those lucky people!

Great family holiday

by A TripAdvisor Member

We just spent 6nights at Maui Banyan in April 2004.We had a top floor 2 bdrm unit that was great for a family of 5(2 adults&3 teenage children) The unit was clean and the kitchen very well equipped. This made eating in some nights easy. The BBQs around the pool were clean and we definitely made use of these. We had a view of the ocean from our lanai that made" happy hour" very relaxing.THe position of the Banyan is excellent, close to shops & just across the road from Kamaole II Beach. It is also not far to drive to what we considered the BEST beach on Maui..Big Beach in Makena State Park. We booked this Accommodation through Hawaii Connections over the internet and could not have been happier.Plus the weather was great.. what more can I say...

Loved it!

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed at the Aston Maui Banyon for ten days in August 04. We loved it! Our room was very clean and we had a great view of the ocean. The banyon condos are directly across the street from Kamoale Beach. So, it was nice to be able just to walk over to the beach for a swim or to watch the sunset. I highly recommend these condos. The grounds were very clean and the staff was pleasant. We stayed in room #404 - which had two bathrooms, that was a real plus. Kihei was also very beautiful and enjoyable.

Good value, nice, clean, family friendly

by A TripAdvisor Member

Nice clean room. Had a great time. When my family, (wife, 2 daughters) were assigned the unit (2 bd Rm,2 bath)fartherest from the beach, I thought oh-oh, bad location, but it turned out we were very close to the upper pool and convenient to the open parking lot. We were on the 3rd floor, no elevator, so we walked up stairs. Our view was nice if we looked in the distance. Just below was a waste area with a roll-off dump bin and a junked golf cart and yard waste. We were here to have fun, so we just look out at the sea of palms and the ocean in the distance. We could also watch the sun rise each morning over the mountain (nice!) This was our first time with a condo, so no comparisons of other units, but we all felt this was a great improvement over a hotel. Much more room, no sharing a bed for the girls, their own bathroom, two TV's etc. We did have a toilet that kept running on, I told the front desk, and that day it was fixed. We asked for more towels, got them right away. We enjoyed the pool and bar-b-que area. These were kept very clean and tidy by the staff and security dept. Would come back again.

Loved this place and glad to find it on our 3rd visit to maui

by A TripAdvisor Member

on our third visit to Maui we found this place, even though we had staied at other Aston properties befor. we will stay hear again! The beach is great and close with great snorkling . The room/apt we had was a two bedroom condo and was clean all the time. Our room was near the pool and we loved this place. Shopping, restruants, and malls were within walking distance . The flowers were beautiful around the hotel.

Great family property

by TripAdvisor Member Kel3288

We just returned on Oct.1 after spending 2 1/2 weeks at the Banyan. This was our 3rd time staying here in the last 10 yrs, and we have found it to be a great family friendly property each time.
We stayed in a two bedroom (3 young children, 2 adults) and my parents stayed in a 1 bedroom unit one floor away. Because the units are all individually owned, decorated, etc., they vary quite a bit. The first room my parents were given was dark, had stained carpet , a threadbare couch and the a/c barely worked. After a fair bit of complaining on my mother's part, they were given a beautifully decorated oceanview unit for the same price. A word to the wise... it pays to complain if you are not happy!
Our unit was average, but we were on the top floor with a gorgeous ocean and pool view that we hadn't requested! It was very clean, and the maid service was terrific.
The pool area is very nice and the BBQs are great. The location is so central and convenient when you have kids, Kamaole Beach 2 across the street is great, as are the little shopping plazas for evening walks. (The cinnamon buns at Cinnamon Roll Fair are great for breakfast!)
A tip for buying local produce is to go to the Sat. morning Swap Meet in Kahului. Great deals on fresh fruit and veggies, the Kula corn is awesome.
We love Maui and can't wait to go back in 2 years!

Oahu: Place to stay for 5 days

by H&M

My fiance and I are getting married in Maui in the begining of June 2005. We are also planning to visit Oahu for 6 days and 5 nights. Both of us have never been in Hawaii before. Can someone suggest a place to stay in Oahu? We don't have to stay in Honolulu or Waikiki. We are looking for a decent and affordable condo or hotel where is near a nice beach.

The Royal Hawi'ian on (I think, Kalakaua) is quite nice. It is in the middle of the "Tourist Strip" in Waikiki, but when I lived there, that was *the* spot. (My Mom thought so too - I couldn't drag her out of the hotel).

Hi,

Your best bet would be to check hotel prices online....www.travelocity.com.

You can get hotels cheap in Waikiki so don't worry about not being able to afford Waikiki.

The price is right is more than a saying. The Outrigger at the Reef has great room prices and also the reef beachfront has a walkway out for taking pictures back toward the land and the hotels, and most of all, Diamond Head. Great spot to watch the sunset as well Go to website: www.outrigger.com and see for yourself. Aloha
