More about Kihei Kai Nani
Loved the Kihei Kai Nani resort
My husband and I stayed at the Kihei Kai Nani resort, unit 129, building 13, the week of Oct. 2-9, 2004. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Naomi, the owner, has thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and inviting. She has added little touches and extras such as spices in the kitchen, luxury linens, beach shoes, beach chairs, beach bags, sunscreen and so forth, to make the stay very nice. The unit was roomy, clean, nicely decorated, wonderful bathroom, shower, vanity, loads of closet and storage space, nice mirrors, ceramic tiles, comfortable bed and fabulous location! We did not have much of a view of the ocean directly from our room, but we were so close to the beach and ocean, (just across the street), it was wonderful. There are many shops and restaurants close by too.
We felt at home there and hated to leave. I hope that we will someday be able to return. If we do, we certainly will check with Naomi about availability at the Kihei Kai Nani.
Eastertime in Kihei
Our family stayed at the Kihei Kai Nani after booking with Naomi Bennett of Maui Coast Condos. I had read reviews where people raved about the personal attention that Naomi gives people who rent through her company, and they were right. She was accessible and gave great advice to help us have a wonderful vacation. The Kihei Kai Nani is a superb location . . . we liked how an Internet cafe was next door, a natural food grocery store a block away (Hawaiian Moons), but even better, an excellent beach called Kamaole II was across the street, albeit a busy one. Kihei, like most of Maui, was jampacked during Easter '05, so it was nice to stay off the roads and stay on the beach. Clean water, and good snorkeling at the south end at the point. Saw lots of colorful fish. If your budget is around $150 a night, I can highly recommend the Kihei Kai Nani complex. We visited some friends staying at the five-star Grand Wailean, and they were paying $800 a night per room plus $150 a day for their cabana around the pool. I can't imagine what the food cost there. Yes, the Grand Wailean was very nice, but that was out of our price range, so we were quite happy at our condo. In fact, we were closer stepwise to the beach than nearly everyone at the Grand Wailean . . . anyway, contact Naomi and she'll take care of you.
home away from home
Canada April 3 2005
Hi we stayed at Kihei Kai Nani the last 2 weeks in march. we rented from Noami . we found the condo very well furnished & eqiped with all kitchen supplies. A person could set up housekeeping with out having to buy & thing. It was very clean. It was are frist trip to Hawaii in 23 years but are planning on returning in 2007. We will definately be renting from Noani again. We had a wonderful time. The Kihei Kai Nani is very close to all shopping & the beach is right across the road. Even thoght it is one of the older condos in maui it is very well kept the pool is one of the largest and the gronds are nice. they also have security on in the evenings. Very happy travellers Canada
Great place for a great price
We stayed in unit 201 second time at the Kai Nani.... We were there in Oct 2004..The room was very clean and furnished nicely.... we did have to have the sink fixed, but it was done very promply... If you arn't looking for the Glitz this is the place... I had a friend stay over Thanksgiving of this year,,, she too loved it..... Spend your money on Fun things and save by staying at the Kihei Kai Nani....... We will stay with them again....
We enjoyed our stay at Kihei Kai Nani. It's right across the street from what turned out to be our favorite beach. I love the nice shops and large health food store close by.
Even though we spent most days being in the ocean, at night we would use the swimming pool.
The apartment we stayed in was so cute and very well equiped.
Next time we go to Maui, that's where we plan on staying.
Lovely and Comfortable Condo
This being our first time to Maui and leaving reservations until the last minute, we were very fortunate to get a cancellation. This being said our expectations were not that high. To our delight the condo we rented was so warm and comfortable, that we felt right at home the minute we arrived. This particular unit looked over the pool area with the volcanic mountains in the background, it also looked across at the ocean from your bedroom. The grounds were kept lovely and the buildings were quiet and peacefull. I would recommend Kihei Kai Nani, for a lovely affordable accommodation.
A nice relaxing getaway...
We enjoyed our stay at the Kihei Kai Nani. We just happened to meet the owners who were most gracious and welcoming. The condo/apt. was very clean, comfortably decorated and had all the utensils needed for preparing the meals that I cooked. The location is within walking distance of many choices of restaurants, a delicious Lappert's Ice cream shop (our downfall), an internet cafe, and a mailing station. It couldn't have been more convenient. A lovely sandy beach was only a short walk just across the street. For the reasonable rates, it was a real find.
No rain in Kihei, even in December
We were warned that Maui condo's would smell musty, and have lots of bugs. Neither turned out to be true with Kihei Kai Nani. Our unit was great. No bugs, no bad smells.
Close to a great beach, and there are many other great beaches a short drive away. If you love night life and shopping- that's mostly in Lahaina, but personally I would take kihei over Lahaina any day.
The weather in Kihei is superb. We saw rain in every other place on Maui, but never in Kihei. Try Kihei rent a car. Their cars are a little older than the places at the airport (they will come pick you up), but much cheaper. And it's a family kind of place.
You're not supposed to take rental cars all the way around the island past Hana, but we did it with no problems, and several others on that road did too!
The highlight of our stay was the "Surfer Dude Surf school" run out of a small bus down the street at Kalama Beach Park. If Ummi can teach a couple of 50 year old geezers how to surf, she can teach you too!
Loved the accommodation and location
We were in Kihei for three weeks, and had booked the Kihei Kai Nani on line. We were very pleased with our stay there. The property was well kept, and our unit (as well as the one rented for my parents) were both in good shape, well-maintained, with a great kitchen, and the barbeques were easily accessible and worked well. The location to Kamaole 2 was really convenient and our unit was well back from traffic. The building is older, so we did hear noise from our neighbours at times, but there was never trouble with night noise. Sunsets from our lanai were fantastic! All units are individually owned so interiors, furnishings, etc. vary (we had a great bed), and the grounds, pool, laundry area are very nicely taken care of. The price is very reasonable. We met a lot of friendly people, including many other Canadians. We'll stay there again. Thanks, Bettie, for arranging this for us.
Enjoyed our stay at this great location
I booked it with Naomi and she took care of my quesitons and special requests. My family and I look forward to returning next year.
Good Kona Coffee
Hi. Has anyone stayed at the Kihei Kai Nani in Kihei? We will leave shortly for 3 weeks in maui. Is it pretty casual dress there? Thanks.
Re: maui rentals
I have not stayed at the Kai Nani, but know the area well and walked by it dozens of times. The whole area is very casual, even by Maui standards. You are just a short walk to the Kihei Cafe, which has great breakfasts where one meal feeds 2-3 while chickens peck around your feet. I believe these units go back a ways, so you want to make sure you get a unit closer to Kihei Road. I think it is Kamaole 2 that is right across the street. You don't want to go too much further West when you snorkle/swim. I prefer the beaches East of the Kihei boat ramp. It is about a 15 minute EZ walk with convenient beach access. Karl
Is there an internet cafe in south Kihei and close to the kihei kai nani? Thanks.
