Best Value in Kihei

For the value minded traveler, The Luana Kai condos in north Kihei are an incredible bargain. We searched multiple listings for months trying to decide where to stay for our 25th wedding anniversary trip, and we were not disappointed! The facility consits of 4, three-story buildings. Buildings "A" and "D" face directly out to the ocean, while buildings "B" and "C" are set back. We stayed in a two-bedroom on the ground floor of building "B". WOW!! To top it all off, the unit ran us $99/night (plus tax) for and 8-day stay. We rented from a private owner (see email address below) we found on vrbo.com, but you can rent directly from the resort. We will stay here when we return.

Unique Quality: While the unit itself was somewhat dated (this is an older facility) it was clean, well supplied and furnished. The lanai opened out on to meticuloulsy maintained grounds with beautiful flowers, palms and an abundance of wildlife (mostly birds). The pool and spa were only steps from our room and the gas bbq's were an added bonus for those nights we chose to dine in and enjoy the views and each others company. Probably the best feature, in conjuction with the wonderful grounds, is that the facility is on the ocean side of S. Kihei Rd. From our unit, it was about 150 yards across the beautiful lawn to the beach!! The sunsets from our lanai and the pool area were awe-inspiring!! The one drawback is the beach. If you are really into the beach scene, the beaches here are not all that great. But its only a 15 -20 minute walk down the beach or 3-5 minute drive to great beaches to the south.

We are looking for a two-bedroom condo in a nice and quiet location on Maui from mid November to end of December 2006. Does anyone have any recommendations? Many thanks for your assistance

Not sure what your likes/dislikes are, or your budget, but you might check on the Luana Kai. We stayed there this past November and really loved it. Rather than boring any other readers who may not be interested, go to my Kihei page and read my review and see a few pics. If it looks like something you might be interested in and you have more questions, send me an email.
