Everything at the Fairmont was first class. The room, amenities, service, pools, grounds, beach, spa facilities...and on and on and on...
I would highly recommend the Fairmont if you have the budget, we splurged (A LOT!) since this was our honeymoon...but it was definitely worth it.
The hotel is unlike any other I have ever seen. It is very open, and looks like some sort of white moorish castle. Almost looks like it belongs in Greece or somewhere else on the Mediterranean Sea. It is absolutely beautiful. There are three pools (one is an adults only pool), and at least two hot tubs. There is also a swim-up bar, and a waterslide between two of the pools. Nick's Fish Market is a highly acclaimed restaurant that is located in the hotel, it is very pricey...but the food was excellent. There is also an array of smaller restaurants and shops incorporated into the Resort.
the kea lani resort is one of the finest places imaginable($450 nite)....if your in kihei drive s of town and take a peek at this fab. resort!! big beach is not to far away! make shure you bring your snorkleing gear so you can catch a glimpse of a giant green sea turtle.. I found them near the reefs at the southern end of makena (big) beach!! aloha! jl
