Located on the gorgeous grounds of Royal Lahaina Resort, the ambience of this restaurant is a romantic gentle breeze... with all of your favorite Italian entrees, as well as their own unique specialties. Some appetizers to start with: Roasted Garlic Bulbs, Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms, Crab Cakes, or their famous Stuffed Artichoke.
For a main entree, have one of your favorite Italian specialities or try one of these: Chicken Manicotti (Two delicious crepes stuffed with chicken, mushrooms, and ricotta cheese. Served with creamy alfredo sauce), Italian Style Bouillabaise (tomato-based stew packed with fresh local seafood, clams, lobster, shrimp and fresh herbs), or Seafood Ravioli (Handmade and filled with Shrimp, Crab, Fish, Onion and Dill, then topped with Crab, creamy Pesto sauce and finished with Parmesan).
Bon Appetit!
Discover the best that Hawaii has to offer... As the sun starts to set, the sound of a conch shell and beating of drums signal that start of an exciting Polynesian luau. A luau is traditionally a Hawaiian Feast, a gathering of family and friends. We invite you to join our Ohana (family) on Maui at the Royal Lahaina Resort, Hawaii at the Royal Kona Resort or Kauai at the Kauai Coconut Beach Resort, where you will enjoy an evening of traditional Hawaiian celebrations.
Upon arrival at one of our award-winning luaus you will be welcomed with a lei greeting and offered a Mai Tai from our open-bar. Be sure to arrive early so you don't miss the Imu Ceremony, which is an earthen pit oven covered with hot rocks and ti leaves used to cook the main course the Kalua Pig. Enjoy an all you can eat buffet dinner, where plenty of delicious Hawaiian specialties are served for your delight.
After you have had your fill of Kalua Pig and Poi, the unforgettable celebration begins. Watch and be amazed by the beauty of the hula, a traditional dance retelling the stories of many Hawaiian legends. Each luau has its own unique quality ensured to make your luau experience a lifetime memory. An experience that should not be missed!
Dress is casual and Aloha wear is encouraged. Fun for all ages. We here at the Hawaiian Hotels & Resort Luaus want to invite you to be part of our Ohana (family) and join in our celebration.
Here is Molokini. An old volcano about 10km off Maui.
Along this stretch is the resort area.
Well what can I say!! This resort is absolutely luxury, set on the beach at Ka'anapali.
Three American ladies trying to dress Hawaiian style...leis and sarongs.
Wonderful food, exciting entertainment, spectacular sunsets...what more could you ask for??
Looking southward towards the Sheraton Maui Resort, behind the trees.
Golden sand and clear dark blue water....
Located on the Sheraton Maui Resort property is Black Rock. At sunset every night, a native Hawaiian runs through the resort lighting each torch along his path. Once they are all lit, he ascends the rock to reach the tip. From there he throws his lei into the sea and dives in....a ritual repeated throughout the year.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced, traditional, family-style luau?THanks!
Kathy
Don't know of reasonably priced, but most luaus for all of Hawaii are listed under a website:
www.best-luaus.com . I have been to the Royal Lahaina's and found it to be ok, but like all luaus, they are staged. We always stay at the cottages of the Royal Lahaina, as it is quiet at the cottages and only a few feet to a great beach that the hotel fronts, in Kaanapali. Aloha oe
Hi Kathryn,
The Old Lahaina Luau has an excellent reputation and has been featured on the Food Channel (Food TV) network. We were going to attend but got rained out, and didn't have any problems being reimbursed. Since it's so popular, recommend making reservations fast...the website is: http://www.oldlahainaluau.com/index_main.html

I second the vote for the Old Lahaina Luau. It's widely regarded as the best on the island.

Hello friends,
I wanted to ask what is the newest hotel (or resort) in Kauai?
Thanks,
Mia
The best way to find that answer is to contact the Kauai Visitors Bureau information hotline, toll free at 1 800-2621400. Aloha oe.
Travel Gourmet!!! Hello !!
You look like just the right person to ask about a LUAU!!!
There are so many to choose from --- some with hundreds of tourists - others smaller, less crowded(?)
A friend did the old stand-by - the historic Old Lahaina Luau - and didn't think it was really that special for nearly a hundred bucks each ..... Have you heard any comments about the "Feast at Lele" in Maui? - apparently you don't line up by the hundreds for the buffet ..instead you get proper table service...but that's about all I know ....Please give me any advice you may have ...Thanks a lot - John from Canada
Whoa, John, Maui is where the the Old Lahaina Luau, Feast at Lele and also the Royal Lahaina Luau are located. Most Luau's are $$$ because the show is included with the meal and maybe a couple of drinks. all three are a little different and also on different parts of the Island. Royal Lahaina is in Kaanapali, Old Lahaina Luau in, of course, Lahaina, and the Feast at Lele is in Wailea. I think that the Royal Lahaina is more intimate, the Old Lahaina Luau for a great themed grounds, and Feast at Lele, the big production. That's my take on the three I know of on Maui. Aloha oe.
We are heading to Maui in July ... pretty stoked since I haven't been there since late 90s and my wife has never been there at all. Just had a couple questions ...
Is there surf in Ka'anapali, specifically, in front of the Ka'anapali Ocean Inn? (http://www.kaanapalioceaninn.com/)
Do you need a 4-wheel drive car to make it up to the peak of Haleakala?
Thanks!
Can't really comment on the surf but if you try, you can surf most anywhere with the waves. It's not as exciting as the North Shore in peak season, but it does work.
You do not need a 4-wheel drive for the Mt. If you're in shape you can do it on a road bike, not even a Mt. Bike with the third gear to climb walls. Word or warning on the bikes though, depending on weather there can be ice on the road so corners can be, ah.... tricky. Do remember that although it may be 70-90 (depending on the time of morning you start the climb) it could be below freezing at the top.
The Ka'anapali Ocean Inn is part of the Royal Lahaina Resort and the surf is very calm in this area as it is flat most of the time. Great for those that want to snorkle as there is a reef about 70 yards out with a channel about 20 feet deep. I have stayed at the cottages at Royal Lahaina and the area seems to be less crowded on this side of Black Rock then the Sheraton Maui side which is one hotel after another, past Whalers Village, and more hotels. Regular car rentals are fine to get to the parking lot at the top of Haleakala. As mentioned, it can be very cold at the top and also not much oxygen so anyone with a heart condition should ask their doctor about being at 10,000 feet altitude. You have to leave the Ka'anapali area about 2 hours before sunrise to get to the top of Haleakala for the actual sunrise. Look for the silversword in bloom and the Ne Ne birds. Aloha.
