More about Lahaina Shores Beach Resort
We Love Lahaina Shores!

On our first trip to Maui we stayed up in the Kaanapali area at a more "resort-like" property - (since we had our teenage daughter with us, we spent most of the time driving to Lahaina to shop and explore.) We found the Lahaina Shores Beach Resort during our first trip and booked our next vacation there and have stayed there twice since then! The rooms are large and clean and the location is awesome! There is a restaurant right next door with nightly entertainment! I love the fact that the car can remain parked and we can walk to all areas of town! If you are looking for alot of frills - you may be happier up the highway in Kaanapali, but Lahaina Shores is a definite value and the service is excellent!
always quite and clean

This was our fifth stay at Lahaina Shores....it's true the rooms all have different decor...the staff will move you if they have something else available during your stay if you want. Ocean front is worth the extra. Nice sunsets and whale watching. Be sure to ask for a "courtesy room" if you have a flight later in the day (check out is at 11:00).
They will give you the use of a room for an hour (nice for changing, showering, etc.) and hold your luggage. Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean!
Nice, Affordable and Great Location

I stayed at Lahaina Shores Beach Resort in August 2003 and had a fabulous time. We had an oceanfront condo with a beautiful view, which we paid a little more for, but it was totally worth it. The room was a little shabby; the carpet was worn in the room and in the common areas, but in spite of that, the room was clean and comfortable. Daily housekeeping is provided and beach towels are provided freely for daily use (I recently learned that not all condo resorts provide these services). The staff was very friendly and helpful and the pool area and grounds were very nice. There is a little beach behind the hotel which was a great place for a first-time snorkeler to get a little practice in AND actually see fish quickly. The beach is a bit rocky, so I would recommend reef shoes when venturing out. From the hotel, you can walk to the harbor and all the great shops and restaurants in town and you end up saving tons on parking. I just came back from a second trip to Maui and mistakenly chose to try a different area to stay.
While I still had a fabulous time, I preferred my stay at Lahaina Shores.
"PARIDISE" WITHIN OUR BUDGET

My Fiancee And I Just Got Back March 13th 04 And we just wanted to say that we would not stay anywhere else. When we checked in we could not believe how clean our room was, we didn't see a roach all week and that is hard to do in Hawaii. Our view from the 6th floor was breathtaking.
The extra $$ for oceanfront was worth it. The condo came fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare your own meals and save some money. You can schedule all of your activities at the Activity desk in the main lobby for the best prices on the island. The staff was very friendly and helpfull with all of our needs. The beach is nothing to write home about but who cares, all of the beaches are public in Maui and you can go anywhere you want. If your looking for the best value in maui you can't go wrong with the Lahaina Shores
Good place to stay

We stayed at Lahaina Shores for a few days in early April. It is very nice and is right on the beach. However, the beach there is not very wide and disappears when the tide comes in. It's fine though if you just want to play in the water. The hotel room was clean and the staff was very friendly. They even allowed us the use a "courtesy room" after we checked out. They will let you use a room for an hour to shower and freshen up. They also had laundry facilities which was useful. The hotel is right on Front Street which means you are in the middle of all the activity. This might be good or bad depending on what you like. There are lots of resturants and shops within walking distance. The only real downside to this hotel is the parking. We were assigned to park in the front street parking garage which is underground. It was smelly and kind of scary at night. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay there again.
Thumbs up for LS!

My wife and I just returned from our Maui vacation at the beggining of April '04. We spent six night on Maui all at Lahaina Shores. From the moment we pulled up we knew we made the right choice. The open lobby overlooks the pool and ocean just steps from the property. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful.Upon entering our room we we noticed how clean and nicely decorated it was. We opened the huge sliding door, stepped onto the balcony and gazed through the palm trees at the amazing blue water and the siloheutte of Lanai'i in the background. In the entire time we stayed at LS we did not have one problem or complaint. The room was cleaned daily, we had a nice laundry facility near our room, and the pool and hot tub were excellent. The beach was very nice also. It was awesome to get up and walk along the beach in the morning. It's not be best swimming beach as the coral in the water is very prevelant, but it would be nice for snorkeling. The resort is at the end of Front street where it is less crowded, but within walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc.We would definetly recommend the day trip to Lanai'i through Trilogy which includes two meals (three counting fresh cinnamon rolls), snorkeling, sunset cruise, and whale and dolphin watching if you visit at the right time. We booked our trip through the concierge at LS. We ate next door at Hecock's, but were not impressed with the service or atmosphere (we were seated next to the kitchen for the Feast at LeLe luau, and had BBQ ribs tougher than rawhide!) for the price. Save the money and spend it at one of the nicer restaurants on the island.Overall, staying at LS was money well spent!
OUTSTANDING!!!!!

I've stayed her twice....this place is awesome and it's right on Front St. so if you been to Maui before and don't plan on venturing out very far, you don't even need a car!
This place is the BEST!
So close to the water, but not quite right

Just stayed here in mid-April of '04 and just not impressed..... we had a one bedroom on the ground floor for about 2 minutes before we asked for a downgrade to one of the studios that afforded us a much better view of the ocean.... The new room, alas, had a bug situation.....cockroaches! So, it wasn't perfect, but not expensive and the proximity to the water was amazing....if you stay here, definitely splurge for the water view...don't know why anyone would go for the mountain view. and Lahaina is nice, but very touristy tacky which is not necessarily bad, but it's what you get if you stay there....the hotel is close to a bunch of really nice restaurants.
OK... Old but clean with nice location

The reviews were accurate but we found our ocean front 1st floor condo to be old but decent shape. Beach is placid with little wave which was perfect for our little kids. Walking distance to Lahaina was plus. Front staff were friendly.

That's what it is like. Two twins pushed together to form a queed?
Seriously. And, don't run on the beach -- there were dogs running free.

I am trying to find a place to stay for 4 people for under $200 a night in Lahaina...oh yeah, and I would like it to be on the beach. Does such a place exist? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not much beach in lahaina but look at The Pioneer Inn and The Lahaina Shores

Puamana Condos are right on the outskirts of Lahaina and right on the water. The beach is not too swimable, though, because of the reef and somewhat murky water. But a short drive up the road and you can find a beach to enjoy.
Rates are close to your price range.

For another place in Lahaina, try Lahaina Shores. It's a condo in Lahaina that may be more convenient.

Or head out of town to Kihei. Beautiful beach and a quick drive to Lahaina. There is a small beachfront Bestwestern that should fit the bill called Maui Oceanfront.
