More about The Guest House Bed & Breakfast
Great B&B in Lahaina Maui
A wonderful place to stay. Jim and Raya were great. The house is lovely, the rooms include a hot tub and are beautifully decorated. The ocean was visible from the deck. There was a nice pool and a hammock ! Maui is a beautiful relaxing island and staying at the Maui Guest House made it a lovely experience. I highly recommend the Maui Guest House - KKB
Never having been to Maui, and planning a wedding/honeymoon there, I relieved heavily on Trip Advisor. I read the reviews for the Guest House and booked immediately and am so happy that I did. There is not a want that you could have at the Guest House. The rooms are beautiful (we stayed in Makai) and impeccably clean - most likely cleaner than your own home. The mattresses are tempurpedic. If you haven't slept on one before, it's amazing. Your significant other can practically jump on the bed and you won't feel a thing on the other side. The breakfast was more than ample - fresh island fruits, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal and more. Considering how expensive dining out can be, this was a great luxury. They have thought of everything at the Guest House. There are beach chairs for your use, ample towels, laundry, and a fantastic magic cupboard that guests have contributed to. If you've forgotten something, it's most likely in the cupboard for you to borrow. If you plan on cooking in, there's every condiment and spice you can imagine. Tama was a gracious and kind hostess and helped us tremedously by providing information about the island. We were touched when we were greated by beautiful fresh flowers in our room on our wedding night. Being that we were on our honeymoon, we appreciated the privacy and quiet at the Guesthouse. The last big bonus for us was that it's a diver friendly establishment. There's ample room to rinse equipment and hang it to dry. Imagine trying to do that in a hotel - no thanks! To wrap this up, we stayed for all nine nights of our trip and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks to Tama for an excellent experience. -Jean & Rob
I'm in the Guest House Bed & Breakfast right now and couldn't have found a better place for the money and our tastes in travel.
We have a pool, a wonderful continental breakfast each day, free scuba equipment, discounts on our activities, wonderful staff. Also we are allowed to use the kitchen at the guesthouse. Tonight we're having pork chops cooked on the outside grill, fresh Hawaiian pineapple and a salad!
The house really is a "Guest House" really is a home for guests. Very relaxing and comfortable.
Guest House is the Best
My wife and I spend 1 week in Hawaii and stayed in three different locations. We enjoyed our time at The Guest House the most.
This was our first trip to Maui and our first stay at a B&B. We were pleasantly surprised at how well kept and intimate the rooms were at The Guest House.
The Guest House location is just minutes from a great beach and is a great place to stay to explore Lahaina. There are several great snorkeling spots nearby and all the gear you need is provided with your stay.
The B&B is full of small touches that make this a great choice and we will definately be back.
Perfect in every way
We spend three nights here at the end of two weeks in Hawaii. It was our favourite place to stay by a long way. I can't overstress how great this place is. Every part of our stay from start to finish was amazing, they are so friendly and helpful, we felt instantly at home. Our room was beautiful, and had a hottub in the corner and a massive flat pannel TV on the wall. The bed was so comfatable, it was bliss. They give you a cooler, beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, and loads of free food and juices any time. They have a massive DVD library and free internet access. It is the perfect place to relax, and is so close to Lahaina and the most amazing beaches.
If you are going to Maui stay here, simple as that. It is worth every penny. If you are looking for a honeymoon destination look no further, their guestbook is full of comments from honeymoon couples raving about their stay. It felt like a second honeymoon for us. Wish we had stayed here longer. We will be back as soon as we can.
We recently stayed four nights at the Maui Guest House, a nice house located in a suburban-feeling neighborhood between Lahaina and Kaanapali. The room was well appointed, with a large flat-screen TV and hot tub (does anyone use this when it's 80+ degrees outside?) We were disappointed with the advice given us prior to arrival -- we were told we didn't need a car...you DO -- it's a 15 minute walk to ANYWHERE, and a good half hour into Lahaina...plus you have to cross a busy highway with speeding cars that are oblivious to pedestrians, even at stoplights; in addition we were told the cab far from the airport was about "5 bucks" -- try more like $20 plus tip...There was a used bar of soap in our shower, and the bread for toast was mouldy. Other than that, the DVD library, pool, beach chairs and BBQ were nice touches, and certainly made our car-less stay more palatable.
Recently we had the pleasure of our 2nd visit to Maui and decided to try staying at a B&B. We chose The GuestHouse as it was so highly rated in all the travel books and on trip advisor. Thank you all for the tips as we found this to be as wonderful as everyone has stated. The Guesthouse is equipped with all that you would even think of needing and more. Tanna and the staff were very helpful and entertaining (thanks for the stories Tanna). The calmness and peacefulness is felt as you walk through the front door. Great get a way for those who need to relax from their busy life. It was just what we needed. Every room is slightly different and the temperpedic mattress is great for those like myself with back problems. I would not hesitate to refer this place to all friends and family. Thanks again Tanna, Jim, Noah and Rhea for the hospitality . We will be back. Good luck Jim on your diving test. Next time we will do an intro dive with you so we can enjoy the underwater as you all do! Mahalo and God Bless,
Angie and Kevin
I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast before.... let me tell ya.. I loved it! Wonderful...The people that run this establishment are professional, but more than that... they are friendly, helpful and work to make your stay a great one!
You have everything you need there and more! They supply everything!!!!!! Towels, Laundry needs, coolers, sun-tan lotions, etc... You can practically just show up with your shorts on and that's it and be taken care of!
Very laid back and comfortable! I give you...10 stars!
home away from home
We stayed at the Guest House for our last two nights in Maui...and had a very pleasant experience. Photos don't really do the place justice. Everything is beautifully decorated, updated, and clean. The staff couldn't be friendlier, the open kitchen feel (and free snacks) make it feel like "home away from home." Everything from chairs and snorkeling gear to beach towels are provided. The only downsides to the place are 1. no decent views from the house 2. the hot tub in our room was located in an outdoor patio that was beautiful...but a non-airconditioned and very hot room. Who wants to use a hot tub in the heat? Overall though, it was a nice transition house from our rustic, oceanfront, Northshore b&b...back to home. I would highly recommend the place!
Couldn't ask for more!
We absolutely loved this place! Though the place was completely booked during our 3-night stay (which ended way too soon), it felt totally private. We stayed in the Bamboo Room, and loved it. Our hosts were so informative and courteous...a pleasure to deal with.
The plentiful breakfast spread was a great way to start each day; the free snorkel gear, along with the beach towels, coolers, and beach chairs, made our snorkeling that much more enjoyable; and I don't care WHAT other folks say, we LOVED having the hot tub since it helped relax my hubby after hours of driving and/or sightseeing (each morning and evening included a "soak" to relieve his back!). Honestly, how can someone COMPLAIN about a hot tub in their room?!
If and when we come back to Maui, we are, WITHOUT A DOUBT, going to spend time at The Guest House. I would whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
