I do really like the location Actually when you walk out the door you are right in the middle of foot traffic of Waikiki. The sounds of the busyness are upon you. I have played Jazz there and I do remember they have nice Karaoke rooms upstairs ..The Hotel rooms are O.K. also! The ResortQuest Waikiki Joy Hotel (Aston is now ResortQuest) is a small, boutique-style property located off Kuhio Avenue and two blocks from the beach. This hotel is for the traveler wanting a quiet ambiance . The complex amenities include a pool, sauna, restaurant, cocktail lounge, fitness center (fee), concierge, activity desk and daily complimentary continental breakfast. There is also valet parking for a fee. The junior suites and one bedroom units have a full kitchen and all rooms offer air conditioning, jacuzzi tub, color cable TV, entertainment stereo system, shower/tub combination, coffee-maker and a hair dryer. ResortQuest Waikiki Joy Hotel is a suitable choice for business travelers and couples wanting accommodations with some cooking facilities. There are many restaurants nearby as well as the International Marketplace which is just 2 blocks away THERE IS A THREE NIGHT MINIUM STAY AT THE HOTEL,.. SIX DAYS COULD BE ABOUT $850 FOR ON LINE..PURCHASES....
The small restaurant /bar lounge ,reminds me of the street cafe in Paris, France. This place is right next to, there again ,the street{Lewers St} There is a pool in the back .Small but O.K. There again a good pivot point for venturing out to the world of Waikiki!!! | | | | Hilton Hawaiian Village': Hilton Ali'i Tower - Worth Every Penny Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
I did quite a bit of research before settling on the Ali'i Tower at the HHV - and I'm glad I chose it. No, it isn't cheap, but even at $289 for a partial ocean view ($279 AARP rate) it was good value. The Ali'i comes with a white-gloved doorman, welcoming fruit bowl (including papaya - yum!), kimono style robes and slippers, covered balcony with upscale chairs and table, a marble bathroom with two separate sinks, plasma tv, private swimming pool overlooking the beach (only Ali'i Tower guests) and adjacent private bar and cafe style breakfast area, and just about every amenity and service you could want. The towels and chaise lounges at the Ali'i pool are free, and there were always chairs available no matter what time we showed up. Between 5-7 they offer free h'ors d'oeuvres. Even the continental breakfast seemed reasonably priced - all the fresh fruit, juice, coffee, toast, scones, bagels, crossants, and jam you could eat, in a beautiful location overlooking the beach, for just $8. The Hawaiian "village" includes dozens of shops and restaurants, a mini version of the Bishop's Museum, a beautifully landscaped pool, evening entertainment, fireworks on Friday night, access to the beach, gardens, exotic birds, sculptures... Staying at the Ali'i Tower gives you a sense of a private paradise - leaving the bustle of the main village behind. The other hotels I could find with rooms and amenities as nice as the Ali'i cost nearly double the price. Friends were staying at the Outrigger, so I checked out the rooms there (which cost just a little less than our room at the Ali'i). There was NO comparison! The decor and furniture seemed cheesy compared to the Hilton. Complaints - a couple of minor ones. Annoying that they charge for internet access, but more annoying that they don't provide a connector. And phone charges: $1 for a local call? Some people say that the Hilton is a little out of the way - they mean it is a 5-10 minute walk to get to the heart of the Waikiki hotel/retail area. I think that's a plus.

 | | | | Imperial of Waikiki: The Imperial of Waikiki Vacation Club Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Our unit was called a "Koa". The Koas are one-bedroom/two-bath units on the end of the hotel (facing the ocean). The hotel is perpendicular to the ocean, so the higher end units are ideal for ocean views. They also have two-bedroom/two-bath units, one-bedroom/one-bath units, and studios. The Koa has a sofa bed, which I found quite comfortable (or else I was just really tired every night). It also has a full kitchen with a stove/dishwasher unit (never seen one of those before!) and an oven above it. It also has a refrigerator, but it fits under the kitchen counter. It's still large enough for quite a few groceries. Above the refrigerator is a microwave. Ours had to be replaced on about the third day when sparks started flying. But maintenance replaced it quickly. There were plenty of matching glasses, flatware, dishes, pots and pans. The bedroom comes with it's own bathroom (the internet shows it has a tub in it, but ours just had a shower). The other bathroom (behind the kitchen) had a shower/soaking tub combination. There was a wall mounted tv with dvd player in the livingroom (and I think there was one in the bedroom, but I was delegated to the livingroom). Maid service came in one time for the timeshare units. But we were able to get new towels, dishwasher soap, shampoo, lotion, etc. anytime we wanted by dropping in on housekeeping on the third floor. They even gave us a coupon for a free use of a bathrobe while there with the option to purchase for $75, but we didn't use that. We found all the personel of the Imperial to be very professional and friendly. In order to help subsidize the timeshare, about 25% of the rooms are rented out. I wouldn't say it's luxurious like the typical resorts, but for the limited space on Waikiki, I found it to be a little piece of paradise.
If you're lucky enough to get an upper level koa room, you'll have a wonderful view of the ocean. If you rent a car, they have valet parking for $12 a day. That seemed like a lot, until we got there and checked a couple of the other lots. The owners lounge and spa are more nice features of this timeshare. The lounge is on the 26th floor. It is very large and has two computers in it -- connected to DSL and available to use for free. There is also a big screen TV with DVD/VHS players and a roomy couch. There are two bathrooms in the lounge, complete with showers. If you have a late flight out, like I did, they offered a key to the owners' lounge and spa for the day, plus luggage check-in. There are also plenty of tables and chairs looking out over the ocean through wall to wall windows. If you go to the orientation breakfast, this is where it will be. The owners spa is on the third floor, complete with a co-ed workout and jacuzzi area and even a separate workout and jacuzzi area just for women. If you aren't an owner or guest of an owner, there is a pool and jacuzzi on the roof, which we also enjoyed several times. For a timeshare in the middle of Waikiki, this one is really nice. Its location is only a block from the beach and about two blocks from the main bus routes. Therefore, it's convenient to get to just about anywhere in Waikiki.
