We wanted to be near the Banzai Pipeline where, in case you don't already know, the biggest surf competitions are held since the waves break really close to the beach, so its perfect for spectators. This was all we cared about, and saving some money. Well, let me start at the top; we did a park & fly out of N.Y. with Stay123.com, and asked them for advice on a place to stay that wasn't a tourist trap, and Paradise Bay is the place they sent us to. Well, where do I begin?
Heavenly. Spacious, comfortable rooms with all the amenities to make you feel at home. Genuinely friendly, warm and kindly staff. Cozy furnished suites with wifi, tv, kitchen, separate living area - and some of those suites have a lanai with positively stupefying views of the bay. Am I raving? If you come here, and feel the peaceful, fragrant (orchids?) breezes, you'll see that whatever I've said is still an understatement. After having stayed at all the wrong places over the years (you know; crowded, tacky, loud) I can tell you, this lovely little gem is the way you imagine Hawaii to be.
That we saved money, both on the park & fly package and the hotel, was just a cherry on top. Thank you stay123, but thank you most of all Paradise Bay - there's no place on earth like this! Just wow. Wow.
Unique Quality: oh boy, the views, breathtaking. the atmosphere, tranquil. Nice to be able to eat what the people there eat, by using the kitchen, instead of eating glitzy restaurant food.
Directions: within 6 miles of Banzai Pipeline - monster waves in the winter.
