The Laie Inn appears to be the only place stay in that part of the island. It's very pink - and a little outdated, but it was just fine. My room with a queen bed was $89 a night, very cheap for Hawaii, but it's probably only a 2-star place. Nothing fancy, but there is a pool, and they also have some light breakfast items in the morning.
Unique Quality: It is right next door to the Polynesian Cultural Center, and also across the street from the beach.
It could definitely use a little redecorating, but if you're in Hawaii and willing to pay only $89, then you probably don't care about the rug or bedspread.
