Makaha Resort & Golf Club (aka Sheraton Makaha): Most remote Resort on Oahu
The Makaha Resort is located in the Makaha valley at the west coast of Oahu, far away from the main tourist areas. You definitely need to rent a car if you stay there – the place is just too remote. The hotel has no direct beach access, but the famous Makaha beach park is nearby. Given the prices on Oahu, I would say the Makaha Resort is a real bargain. We paid about 100.- USD for a double per night and got a wonderful quiet sea view room. The hotel was a Sheraton in the past, but does not offer anymore that kind of service. I would rate it about three star. If you are looking for a quiet, remote resort on Oahu for a good price, then this place is great!
