Go to the Capitol Building....
by Lpismo
Go to the Capitol Building. It's huge, marble floors, my brother and I would walk there at least once a week when we were there visiting. a beautiful sight to behold, visit the parks, go swimming in Payette Lake. I miss my grandparents the most, the cool evenings sitting outside til it got dark. Getting up in the morning, going outside in my barefeet, walking in the cool, misty grass. The early morning fresh smells. I have so many good memories of Boise. It's a great place to visit.
Hiking off of Lick Creek Road....

Hiking off of Lick Creek Road. Stop at May's Hardware in town for some hiking info. Or purchase a McCall hiking book at either McCall Drug or Hometown Sports. There are some great hikes off of Lick Creek Road--some of which are very challenging.
World Center for Birds of Prey
by JetlagCity
This is a great place to see magnificent peregrine falcons, eagles, and other birds of prey up close. My most vivid memory is of a giant harpy eagle – that bird was downright scary and very impressive, with talons about 5 inches long! Idaho has one of the densest populations of nesting raptors on the planet, so it’s fitting that this facility is located here. The center breeds endangered birds to be introduced into the wild (they’ve been quite successful with this), gives presentations with live birds, and has educational displays on conservation and incubation. The Peregrine Fund, a non-profit conservation group, has its headquarters here. It’s not a big place, but what’s here is worth seeing. Entrance fee is $4.
One thing still on my to-do list is to take a boat trip along the Snake River, through the Birds of Prey National Conservation Area, which is 485,000-acres.
I did not think to take pictures when I was here. This picture of a Cooper's Hawk is by my Boise area friend, Michael Wiegand - a great photographer!
Three Weeks in Boise

"My Visits to Boise"
Three separate one-week visits. All this year (2007). all for business.
Visiting Boise State University.
Nice, small, easy to use airport. Convenient to the whole city.
Nice campus. Hotel on Parkcenter Drive was fine. SpringHill Suites, I think.
Nice downtown.
Lots of parks.
