Idaho Falls
Idaho Falls sits midway between Craters of the Moon National Monument and Grand Tetons National Park. It doesn't have a lot of attactions in of itself but is a great home base for exploring Southeastern Idaho.

is it really a slower pace? is the economy such that you can make a good living? life in LA is growing old fast, my family needs a change. any advice on the area?

I went to school 20 miles from there. It was 20 years ago so I can't comment on todays economy.
The weather swings from 40 below to at least 90 above. There is a large farming community in the area as well as eco-tourism. This is the 2nd largest populated are for LDS 'The Mormons' in the country. Friendliness abounds as well as missionary spirit.

I went to school up there too :) Being a SoCal native, all I can say is it was the coldest place I've ever been in my life! I only stayed for 6 months. Couldn't handle it at all!
