If you own a boat and your in McCall Idaho for the 4th of July you will probably be on the lake..The weather is almost always spectacular and there are just enough boats and people to be fun! This picture was not taken by me but a friend who passed it on...

Burgdorf Hot Springs, is...

Burgdorf Hot Springs, is located about 30 miles and is a easy drive in the summer. This is a old minning town with a log linned pool. This is a commerical hot springs, but very fun and full of history.

"The Mystery of Effie Johnson"

The mystery of Effie Johnson...sounds a bit like an old adolescent mystery novel! Well, since I have discovered Effie Johnson in a pile of unwanted auction items...I have felt a bit like Nancy Drew!!!
This picture, and hundreds of others, taken in the late 50s and 60s are my find of a century! I have had a great time trying to unravel her mystery. Her pictures are photos of McCall, Idaho and of the world!

"A view from the homestead!!"

A view of Jughandle covered with snow! I have the same view from my home....only about 4 miles further west that the Johnson's had on their property!

"Payette lake"

Payette Lake, Idaho. This is either Effie or one of her friends visiting McCall. Is there any doubt that this was taken in the 1950s!

Seems to be a private lake front...or even a wonderful river view! What is nice about this shot is that I could have taken it! The areas around McCall still look this pristine...this was shot in 1956... Another E Johnson slide!

Who these people are...I have no idea! But I love the picture! This was dated 1953!
