Salmon is a magnificent little village nestled in the Bitterrot Valley along the Salmon River. (River of No Return). The hunting, fishing, rafting, and scenery are all awesome. The government has released a few packs of wolves in recent years that have multiplied far beyond anyones imagination. Many cow, sheep, deer and elk are being killed by the wolves. This has created a statewide and national controversy as ranchers and hunters battle the feds. The area was somewhat devastated by fire 3 years ago but there is still many acres of beautiful forest left to enjoy. Here's a picture of the intense fires near Salmon and some real smart elk.
