When in Rome...

I've enjoyed the restaurants, grounds, ice rink and a summer concert here. I stay with family in Sun Valley so have no need for accommodations.

In contrast to the ski resorts, the hotel is less rustic and more elegant. Still, it isn't frilly. The lobby has a wonderful fireplace and it is lovely to sit next to while drinking hot chocolate with one's young nieces and nephews. The ice rink is behind the hotel past an outdoor terrace and lawn which receive nice afternoon sun. I believe the ice rink is open all year round.

Unique Quality: This is a nice destination in the summer for either an outdoor concert or dinner if you do not stay here. There are a few restaurants at the resort. Two that come to mind are German themed: Gretchens for a more formal meal and Konditorei for an afternoon Kaffee und Kuchen (coffee and cake). Parking is free. Also free is a stroll around the grounds.
