Convenient Location
While on our way to Macomb, Illinois, to attend a college football game, we stayed overnight in Bloomington, Illinois, at the Quality Inn and Suites by Choice Hotels.
When we checked in, the lady said that we could be upgraded, and then added that we would be on the same level as the high school track team that was in town for competition. We decided to stay in the less expensive, older section to satisfy our desire for quiet.
The room was outside the main building, far in the back. It was, indeed, very quiet, and the view out our front window was wide open spaces [see extra photos].
We had a queen-sized bed, but we both thought that it was way too soft for our preferences.
There was a building with a swimming pool, Hot Tub, and Sauna that was open from 7am to 10pm. They also had an exercise room that was open 24 hours.
The people at the front desk were quite busy, but they were efficient and quite friendly. Although the room and bathroom were clean, they were not "spotless".
Unique Quality: Our room had a queen-sized bed, two end tables, a desk with a wonderful business chair, another chair, a dresser, and a color-TV with numerous stations. Provided were an ironing board and iron, shampoo/conditioner as well as body lotion. They also provided a hair dryer.
The shower in the bathroom was excellent, as was the water pressure. The toilet was quite noisy and ran for a long time after flushing.
Along with the room, we had a free continental Breakfast [6-10 on weekends]. It was more than continental with its waffles, biscuits and gravy, toast, cereals, including oatmeal, fruit, muffins, and donuts. Of course, coffee and tea along with three juices were offered.
All of this [the night's stay and the continental breakfast] cost with tax $51.00!
