If you have the chance, go to see an American football game at Memorial Stadium! Football is a very popular American sport, and the Illini are one of the "Big Ten" teams for college sports! Make sure you bundle up -- it gets very cold in the stands!!
Greet the players as they arrive at Memorial Stadium on the "Illini Walk." Two hours before the game, the football players walk from First St. to the Football Complex along Irwin Drive, just North of Memorial Stadium between the Stadium and the IMPE Building. Meet and cheer them on!!!
This year, I was able to see the Mt. Carmel High School play here at the IHSA state championships. It was a great time, and a great game, too -- even though we lost. :( There's always next year!!! Always bring layered clothing and extra layers (jackets, blankets, etc.)! Remember -- you'll be outside in winter, and the weather is crazy! You never know how cold (or warm) it's gonna be!
