The Courtyard Marriott "on" the magnificent mile is a good value in a great location. The lobby is not grand, but it is nice and the staff is very helpful, including the concierge. My room, though not large, was comfy, clean and well maintained. From the 19th floor facing the river, there is not much of a view.
The bar and restaurant looked nice, though I didn't eat there. The bartender was very friendly, and when I ordered a Patron, offered me a sample of Don Julio first, because he felt it tasted better (and it did!).
I have no reservations about recommending this hotel.
Of course, the best part of the hotel is the location. It is one block from the Magnificent Mile and within easy walking distance of many shops, restaurants, bars, attractions and the Navy Pier. The Capital Grill is right across the street.
