I stayed at the Hilton O'Hare on a last minute layover. The hotel was very convienantly attached to the series of walkways exiting O'Hare to the trains. I had a very good rate and for only a small charge they booked me into one of their theater rooms. I rode into Wrigleyville with friends and eventually came back in to a very comfy bed, woke up and checked into my flight from the United check in that is located in the hotel lobby!
Unique Quality: The theater room was awesome and I believe this is the only hotel connected to O'Hare.

Hilton Hotel – Chicago O’Hare USA
Situated next to airport with easy access through terminal or a short walk across the road. All the modern faculties you expect for a Hilton. Plus good bar and restaurant where one can relax and have a beer or two before catching your next flight. Booked as a day room 9am to 6pm US$135
PROS: Convenient position next to airport. Excellent bar and restaurants. Hairdresser, massages, tanning, mini bar, air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, high speed internet, guest service hotline.
CONS: No swimming pool.
Recommendation: Absolutely for travellers and business purposes.

I have no complaints about our one night stay at the O'Hare Hilton
Got a really good deal using Hotwire.com for about $60 per night.
Great airport location, walk to the terminal.
Check in desk in the lobby for most major airlines (demestic)
Nice on-site sports bar.
Clean large rooms.
Unique Quality: Even though this hotel is on the airport property you can't hear the planes landing ot taking off! Some rooms do offer a view of the runways.

I got an excellent rate (over a weekend) here from Priceline - something in the $58 range! Usually of course I prefer to stay in the Loop, but there was plenty going on that weekend and I was just wasn't able to find anything I liked at a price I was willing to pay. And since I was flying in and out of O'Hare, I really couldn't beat the convenience. (It's just a short walk through the tunnel across from Terminal 2.)
I was a little concerned about the possible noise from take-offs and landings, but the rooms are quite soundproof. It was quieter here than on the 14th floor of the Palmer House in the Loop.
The main drawback of course was the distance from most of my friends and activities in the city. Eventually, Chicago is planning to have a fast train from the Loop to O'Hare - but until then it's a good 45-50 minutes (on CTA) from the airport into town.

As one of my connecting cities during a quick trip to Pheonix, we were stranded due to a Nor'easter and decided to stay at this Hilton property as it allowed us quick access to the ariprot to secure our flights back home.
Unique Quality: The lobby has a few great restaurants and a kiosk for checking in and printing your boarding pass, so all you need to do is head straight to your gate, without waiting on any long queue.

We were stranded here when the airlines decided to cancel all flights into NYC without any snow falling. BRILLIANT!
Although we were given a free room at some off airport hotel I wanted to check this place out. And got another Hilton Stay out of it.

You can't get any closer to staying at the airport than this hotel. The Hilton O'Hare is located on the airport property. It is a nice, full service Hilton hotel which is probably geared more towards business travelers, but which has a bar, restaurant, work out facility and shops. There are several American Airlines self service kiosks in the lobby so that you can print your boarding pass right here as well.
The rooms are what you'd expect, although there is a bit of noise throughout the night due to the take off and landing of planes. Other than that, it was a clean room with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom and an interesting view of the airport runways. This was a very comfortable place to stay, especially after a long day of work and an evening flight into Chicago.
I didn't do much at this hotel except sleep, so I can't comment on the amenities at all. The service was fantastic and helpful though. And having a hotel that is a mere ten minute walk from the gate is a pretty cool perk.
During the week, rates are pretty high here. But, if you're flying in on a weekend, you can get a decent room rate here. I paid about $100 in May, 2005 for a Friday night stay, which was less than many of the downtown area hotels.

We stayed here pre-renovation -- when the decor was yellow & white daisies on chartreuse stripes. Now the lobby is very sleek and the reports are that the rooms are up to Hilton standards.

It does a lot of business with the corporate types that come in, want to meet at the airport and then go home. It is useful also if you have a very early flight out the next morning -- which is the reason we stayed there.
Unique Quality: You can walk to Terminal 2 in 2 minutes. And either walk or take the airport elevated train to the other terminals -- all without going outside!

The only part that seems to have escaped upgrading is the sports bar on the lower level -- which is ugly, noisy and smoke.

The Hilton O'Hare is perfect if you are flying out early from Chicago O'Hare airport and want to be able to walk to the airline checkin within a few minutes.
On weekdays it may be a little expensive, but the rooms are usually discounted during the weekends.
Unique Quality: Right next to the check in counters at terminal 1.

I was at the Ohare Hilton 2 times last month. First time was in an upgraded room and it was VERY nice. Second time I was stuck in a room that hadn't been upgraded and it wasn't as nice. BUT both times the beds were fabulous, so soft and comfortable!!! Can't beat that! Its location next to the airport makes it a winner!
