If Oprah puts her guest there, i figured it was good enough for me. Actually i didnt know her guest stayed there until after i was there.
The Omni was great. We booked it over Hotwire.com, so we were pleasently suprised when we ended up there. All i knew is i wanted to stay on Michigan ave. and it put me right in the middle. It was sweet!
All rooms are a suite style. You have a livng room, a bedroom, and a big bathroom. Theres a phone in the bathroom so while your on the toilet u can call your friends and famiy and tell them about what u are doing. The hotel service was great, and the hotel has a great breakfast.
The hotel is located within walking distance to the Handcock building, the Navy Pier, the Chicago river, the "L" stations, the double decker bus stops,and a lot of great restaurants and shoping.
I highly recommend the Omni if u have a little extra cash to spend on accomodations and u want to be in a great location. For more info on the Omni, visit the following link to their website Omni Chicago
We stayed on the south side of the tower with a view of the Sears tower and the rest of the Loop. I could stayed up all night looking at the view. the pool was indoor and pretty cool but it was small. i liked the atmosphere of the pool.
The Concierge was very knowledgeable about the city and went out of her way to find any information u needed.
Every room gets a USA today newspaper. This is my favorite paper so this is a plus for me

We had just gotten in from what ended up a long drive and a stay in a horrible hotel. The employees at the Omni were very polite and helpul, amoungst what appeared to be a very busy time. Yet, we were treated wonderfully by all and were able to check in 4 hours early. The room was very cozy, elegant and had a great view of the street and shops below. The bed is seperated from the sitting area, giving it it's own room, and it's own tv. It felt like an added bonus of an escape itself....I don't remember sleeping on a more comfortable bed, generous in comforting comforters and more than enough pillows. The pool is small, but clean and relaxing. The workout room and changing rooms were clean, modern, and a slightly impressive themselves. There is also a balcony/roof top area on the floor the pool is located providing a beautiful backdrop of the city. Room service was prompt, and polite. Oh, and I have no complaints on the food :-) The bar was quiet, with a good atmosphere, modern and classy, with a friendly bartender, and another nice view of the street below. It was a wonderful stay, and I am very critical and can be hard to please :-) The price was reasonable for the room, even less than I had imagined and the staff were incredible. They really made the stay worthwhile by going out of their way to please. The Omni was in no split second disappointing and gave us such a wonderful stay.
Great walking distance for that end of Michigan Ave attractions. It took no time to get to Navy Pier or the other direction to tourist restaurants like Ed Debevics or Gino's East (great pizza).
