Joilet is where the Historic Route 66 and the Historic Lincoln Highway meet. The Joilet Area Historical Museum is a good museum to learn about the history of the area. The city is a relatively short drive from downtown Chicago on Interstate 55. There are also a couple large casinos in the area as well.
