I thought both these pictures reflected what a lot of people from other Chicago suburbs think about Napervillians. In reality, although it is an affluent community everybody works very hard to achieve their success.

Civic pride ...

... has very little taste. This is the Millenium Carillon, which was
1. not finished in time and
2. cost lots of money.
It is visible from many parts of the downtown area -- it's biggest plus is that is dwarfs the cellular towers that have sprung up in the area.

It is located a short walk from the Riverwalk.

10 West Revisited NOW CLOSED

Competition from the Chicago big guns who have opened outposts in Naperville killed this wonderful restaurant. I will remember our meals here with pleasure.

The decor remains spare and elegant. The picture on the right of the photo collage is of the upstairs dining room taken from our lovely corner table! A tasting menu at $50 -- $75 with wine choices was unfolding at the table next to us. It looked WONDERFUL! On our revisit we were just as happy. The food is delicious and well-prepared.

Bottom left is my husband's appetizer described as: Roasted Mushroom and Tamale Terrine with Goat Cheese Crème and Grilled Pepper Salad. He wouldn't let me have any so I can only report that he said is was yummy;)

Top left is my main: Oven Roasted Mahi Mahi atop Mashed Rutabaga with Crisped Prosciutto and Balsamic infused Red Wine Reduction. No complaints from me:)))

Nichols Library - A Literary Experience

The Nichols Public Library has 3 branches in Naperville. The main library is in the photos here and is located just west of downtown Naperville, adjacent to the Naperville River Walk. The other 2 locations are on the southeast side of town on Naper Boulevard and on the southwest side of town near Route 59 on 95th Street.

Besides being able to browse and check out thousands of books, music or visual CD's, they also have a number of free programs and speakers such as the recent one Sue and I took on photography.

Airtastic Play Land

"GREAT PLACE TO PLAY"

Airtastic is an awesome place for kids to play. They are open for play all the time - 100% everyday!

My kids love running, jumping and playing on all their inflatables. The place is exceptionally clean and the staff and owners are great.

Highly recommended!
