Summer concerts at the bandshell
by shrimp56
Well it used to be a "shell" until they redid it recently. The question was whether they would enlarge the facility where it was [difficult because of space constraints] or move it to another location.
.
They left it in downtown [just north of the US Bank and east of the YMCA], but it's a bit crowded. And yes -- it's in "Central Park"!
.
The painting is the curtain that protects the stage.

Go for a ride at the mall

The center of the food court at Westfield Fox Valley Mall is now occupied by a two tiered carousel, which, fortunately for the nearby diners, doesn't seem to get much business...
.
The "anchor" stores at Fox Valley are Marshal Fields, Carson Pirie Scott, Sears and J.C. Penneys.
Rush on over for delicious Italian
by shrimp56 about Rosebud of Naperville
Rosebud on Rush has landed in Naperville with a terrace that overlooks the river. The menu includes signature Rosebud dishes that include Chicken Vesuvio, and handmade cavatelli. Also look for the "square noodles"!
Ask a child to take you with them:)

The Dupage Children's Museum needed a new space and a builder's supply company was moving out of downtown so ... the museum got a marvelous location next to the train station and very near the center of downtown.
.
If you are an adult let me recommend that you find a child to take you here :)))
You can go home again!

"Back to our roots"
My grandma and her family is from Naperville. Her parents and grandparents were one of the founding families of Naperville following the Civil War. I'd heard for most of my lifetime about this town, and seen tons of pics of my family photos set here. My Gramma asked me to go with her to a North Central Homecoming game, where she even ran into friends she went to college with 60 years ago. It was too cool to see this town through the eyes of someone who grew up here in the early part of the century, and to hear more of our family history. If there is a town like Naperville that harbors your family history, I urge you to go back and see it through the eyes of someone who called it home.
