Woodruff Hotel at Zions Mercantile: LOVED the Woodruff Hotel at Zions Mercantile
We pulled into Nauvoo and saw the Nauvoo Temple. When we pulled up to the hotel we were STILL LOOKING at the Nauvoo Temple ... that's how close we were. What a wonderful hotel, wonderful hotel staff, and wonderful - heavenly bread pudding. The Nauvoo Temple was outside the window of our hotel. The hotel had a history that was almost as old as Nauvoo. Of all the lodging places we could have chosen ... we loved the Woodruff Hotel. And we loved Zions Mercantile, we loved the fudge factory across the street. We loved the whole trip ... WOW Nauvoo was amazing !!!
Unique Quality: Old Hotel that was remodeled in like 2007 or 8 and it was amazing. It reminded us of the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. Old and restored and very very cool.

Inn at Nauvoo - Zions Mercantile: Nauvoo Best Hotel
We stayed in this gorgeous little hotel when we visited Nauvoo this summer. It was decorated in a historic and wonderful fashion. The rooms included interested old Mormon antiques and photos. We enjoyed the Mormon Temple in Nauvoo which we marvelled at from our balcony each night. The Inn at Nauvoo is right across the street from the Nauvoo Temple. Each morning we ate at the Zions Mercantile which was downstairs. We loved this hotel and we loved the little city of Nauvoo. We recommend it!!!
Unique Quality: Historic decor and feeling. Old Nauvoo and Mormon antiques. Great rooms with views of the Temple and Nauvoo city.

HOTEL NAUVOO: Nauvoo's Matron
Unique Quality: Nauvoo gets swamped with tourist in the summer, especially since the completion of the temple in 2003. There are several small b/b’s and the Hotel Nauvoo at which to stay. The Hotel Nauvoo is the matron of Navuoo accommodations, directly in the center of the small business district. Originally built as a house for a Mormon family in 1841, the home was turned into a hotel in 1885 and extensively remodeled in 1948. Building materials used include those from an old Icarian frame house and Joseph Smith’s Red Brick Store. There are several guest rooms and the hotel serves as the best-known restaurant in the area. Motel Nauvoo is an adjunct overnighting place a few blocks ot the east.
It is important to realize that there is not a lot of overnight rooms in Nauvoo nor places to eat. The town is only 1000 people and not used to the huge tourist influx that has grown up shortly. The LDS church runs the town’s largest hotel – the Navuoo Family Inn & Suites and there are plans for two more hotels. for more complete accommodation guide, see: http://www.beautifulnauvoo.com/
