Rockford Master's CommisionRockford, Illinois....Midwestern City.
I was told Rockford was the second largest city in Illinois. One thing for sure it is a real "bible belt"....so many churches and a real move of God in this area.
We became acquainted with Rockford because it is the location of the Rockford Master's Commission, a Bible Dicipleship Program, that is world wide and moving fast.
Rockford has the most vibrant of all the programs....filled with young people just out of high school, who are seeking God's will for their life, whether it be to go on in Ministry, or go on to college or trade school or a job.
Some are punk rockers, some hippies, some preppy, some from off the streets or from religious families with church back grounds...all seeking Jesus, loving Jesus and radical followers.
They learn about Contemporary Chrisitan music, human videos, great youth programs that cover all of Rockford, Cross Current is the Youth Ministry and if you have heard of the "House of Horrors", this is where it is, a Halloween Outreach to show kids life without God in Life and in Eternity. Well known.
Kids are hungry for God... fed up with materialism and the things their parents thought were important. Wealth, recognition, fame and fortune.
Rockford Master's is the place to come. Try it. Or come for a visit, it is at the Assemblies of God on N. Mulford St. off East Riverside Blvd. Off Rt. 90 West. All the great smiling faces and the general kindness and politeness of the people in the stores, restaurants, filing stations, etc. A real friendly place.
