pleasant staff / nice pool
I would recommend this hotel to anyone if what I experienced is the norm.The desk staff , the maintenance staff and the" Filling Station" waitresses were all so friendly that I felt at home immediately.Our room was clean and the maid was in and out and very profesional every day we were there. The food at the Filling Station was good and we even had a horseshoe there. The coffee superb.
We were in room 101 and I would not stay that close to the lobby again, a little too noisy.
Unique Quality: There was a very nice outdoor pool.It was clean and well kept. The Curve Inn , a local good time bar, is just across the street. There were some good times had here. Being directly on Historic Route 66 this hotel caters to many groups exploring Route 66 from California to Chicago. We also lucked out as Springfield was sponsoring an antique car show as well as a rib cook off / blues fest. You are close to the downtown where you can visit The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library, A Frank Lloyd Wright designed home , the Lincoln Memorial and many beautiful parks. The list goes on but you can spend a week here in this exceptionably clean city and wonder where the time went. I enjoyed it very much.
