Now used as offices for university staff, when my husband was an undergrad, they had a temporary housing shortage and he was one of the lucky few that moved into this "castle". He spent all four years as an undergrad housed here.

If you want GOOD coffee, at a reasonable price, and to know that you are at least getting some of the price of your cup to the coffee farmers then get your coffee in Bloomington HERE. I love the coffee and the idea.

Bobby Knight notwithstanding, Indiana University is best known in higher education for its outstanding programs in the arts and humanities. For example, it is classed with Juilliard and Eastman as one of the top three music schools in the United States. It's programs in other fields are uniformly strong. Currently, I have three former students of mine who are working on their PhD.s at Indiana - more there than any other institution. It was a delight for me to visit this place where the ideals of the "liberal arts" have not been forgotten.

The Lilly Library on the Indiana campus is one of the world's great repositories of manuscripts, letters, and first editions. The Lilly family - of pharmaceutical fame - donated a fat wad of money for the creation of this archive, which helps to make Indiana one of the best places in the world to study English literature and history.
