We get our mail delivered from Hobart, IN which is in Lake county.
Everything else is Portage township. Our kids went to Portage schools.
Shopping is in Portage, restaurants, etc. are all Portage because we are only a block from the city limits.
from Indiana: A New Historical Guide:
The First Unitarian Church, 497 Main St., was the first church erected on town property when dedicated in January 1876. Hobart's Unitarians officially organized in 1874, meeting in a schoolhouse. The congregation leased a hall until the present church was completed. A.D. Pollard and Company constructed the ivy-covered brick building of traditional Gothic design. A parish hall in the back was added in 1956. The church cupola contains a very old bell cast in England and presented to the Hobart church by United States Senator George F. Hoar of Massachusetts from the sister Unitarian church at Concord.
