Being a history freak myself,...
by Tina_Squires
Being a history freak myself, I would definitely take someone to Conner Prarie. It is a restored town from the early 1800's and has many specail events that are wonderful. The Christmas evening candlelight tours and the Halloween hayrides are really great. Having been born and raised here, I would miss the season changes and the unpredictable weather in the spring and fall. It keeps things interesting.

Chain Italian at it's best
by djramey about Buca Di Beppo's
Indianapolis is a hub of fine dinning. However, I personally enjoy one place of many in this great city. First and foremost, Buca di Beppo's is the premier Italian restaurant in the downtown area. Combined with an 'out of a mob movie' feel, the food is exquisite. With that said, there are no gimmicks being played toward making this feel. You will find plenty of tongue in cheek humor as well as you attend the locally famous bathrooms.
Small, very Italian feel, with huge portions of food. As I mentioned, men check out the bathrooms. It's a delicate surprise you are sure to enjoy. Anything and Everything!! And I mean it. Things come in such large portions I would suggest going with family or friends, and sharing large meals. Like always, ask for the specials. The wine isn't bad either, although not the best selection in the world.
The Children's Museum
by sticki
Okay, it's not quite as cool as it was when I was 8, and I'm a little bitter than some of my most affectionately remembered exhibits have been changed or removed all together. But it is still the largest Childrens Museum in the world. It's a little pricey, but worth it, especially if you've got kids with you. Lots of up-ramp walking. The IMAX theater is right next door, too.
