A visit from yooperprof
by sambarnett
The sass-talking bird was pretty cool, but getting a visit from fellow historian and VT member yooperprof was defintely the high point of my jaunts to Michigan City. The weather was perfect for winter and time was short, but I hope my tour of the Dunes was concise yet thorough. Such is the desire of those who serve Clio.
East entry to the Indiana Dunes

"It's own unique offerings"
Michigan City offers a variety of special services because of it's location along I-94, just outside of the Greater Chicago Metropolitan area. There is shopping, restaurants, hotels, and services of all kinds.
"Entrance to the Dunes"
Michigan City serves as the eastern entrance to the dunes. Mt. Baldy actually exist within the city boundaries. Before it became the eastern end of the dunes park, the beach at Mt. Baldy was considered the West Beach of Michigan City. Today, the city is served by Washington Park as a swimming and picnic area, but Mt. Baldy remains the place to see the dunes up close.
