Weather
by Ischyros
Ok, let's talk about weather in Michiana. Summer is pretty even. The weather in winter, however, can vary greatly by moving just a few miles thank to a little body of water we call Lake Michigan. The lake has a huge impact on winter weather in northern Indiana. South Bend/Mishawaka are right in the heart of the lake effect favored area that includes La Porte and Michigan City to the west. The eastern edge of Elkhart and most of Goshen are often spared the major lake effect snow storms. It is not uncommon for one area to have a foot or more of snow while another area a few miles away is snowless and sunny.
January is the coldest month with an average temperature of 23 degrees Farenheit. The average high is 31 and the average low is 16. July is the warmest month with an average temperature of 73 degrees Farenheit. The average high is 83 and the average low is 63. These are just averages. it is not uncommon to see winter temperatures drop below zero and summer days top 90 or even 100 degrees, although these extremes rarely last for very long.
June is the wettest month with over 4 inches of rain and February is the driest, although precipitation is pretty evenly spread through the year. South Bend averages over 76 inches of snow a year but it can vary greatly. Some years see only 20 or 30 inches will others see over 100 inches.
Fighting Irish
by KaiM
If you ask an American for a legendary college football team, chances are high that he answers: "Notre Dame Fighting Irish".
Chances are also high, that if you ask the University of Notre Dame ticket office for football tickets none are left. Each spring all home and away tickets are offered first to the university's contributing alumni. The demand most often exceeds those tickets available. Season football tickets have not been made available to new customers for over 30 years and a waiting list does not exist.
But how can you still enjoy the magic of one of the best college football teams? You can take a guided stadium tour or enjoy the spirit on campus or in on of South Bend´s sports bars during a game.
What I recommend would be a visit of Joyce Center on campus. It contains a huge collection of photos, cups, articles and other artifacts about the history of Notre Dame sports. A real Notre Dame Hall of Fame.

Catch A Football Game

Experiencing a college football game in this most sacred stadium is unbelievable. The stadium capacity holds over 80,000 people. There are no jumbo trons, sky boxes, artificial turf, etc. This is how college football should be played!
South Bend

South Bend is the home of the University of Notre Dame. It has one of the most beautiful campuses in America and of course the most storied college football program in history. It is one of the best places to watch a college football game in the country. I am not a fan of Notre Dame, but I always enjoy coming to a game at Notre Dame Stadium.
