Campus Inn, the closest hotel to Purdue University is actually not bad. The rooms are nice for $50 a night, the beds are comfy.... but the service is HORRIBLE!! We stayed at Campus Inn for a four days, then added on two at the end. It was not the weekend and there was not a game or any big event at Purdue, and they wanted to raise out rate $20 because they "were so full"...well, behind him are the keys and they were very empty! When we checked in we paid a $20 deposit for security, which seemed reasonable, and applied our Purdue discount to the rooms. When we went to check out, however, he claimed we stayed 5 days, upped our rate anyway and didn't apply the discount! (this is the owner/manager) So, naturally, we pulled out receipts and showed them. He then printed on off that was totally different and began suggesting that our receipts were somehow "fabricated" and how dare we try to "rip him off"!! He also said we were lucky he was not calling the police. We did for him :) and after a long heated talk, got our money back and reported him to the Better Business Bureau. We thought everything was taken care of and behind us and then we discovered that he waited until the last possible moment, nearly 3 weeks later, to charge us for our rooms! As someone who plans money very carefully, this was not expected and was a big pain. Needless to say, I would NOT recommend this to anyone unless you'd like to be ripped off.
