Iowa is a land of cornfields. We certainly saw a lot of corn while we were there. Instead of a cornfield photo I am adding this photo of trees in Autumn because it was that time of year when we were in Des Moines.

There's a laid back atmosphere. There are old movie mementos all over the walls. It's fun just to see what is displayed. Since I'm from New Orleans, this was just so much a reminder of 'home'. It has a lot of Cajun/Creole food. It's delicious!! I had some type of Pasta with spicy sauce. It was so good!

Des Moines seems to have alot going for it, you can not walk down the streets of Des Moines because of all the construction. Des Moines seems to have alot going for it, there are many, many insurance companies. For a city of 200,000 people, Des Moines has a very, very impressive skyline. Des Moines has a reputation of having a very low unemployment rate, however downtown Des Moines seems to be dead on the weekends. Des Moines is a clean city, slightly hilly and is a fairly proserous city
