In the us are many replica's of the Statue... Des Moines has one also it is located right in front of the State Capitol.
This replica was donated by the Boy Scouts of America in 1950. It was a part of their annual service project.
The inscription reads:
With the faith and courage of their forefathers who made possible the freedom of their United States.
THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
Dedicate this replica of the statue of liberty as a pledge of everlasting fidelity and loyalty

Des Moines is a city we have driven past going from Kansas to Minnesota on Interstate 35 many times. On our last trip we decided to stop in Des Moines for a while and I am glad we did. The capital city of Iowa has a lot to offer. One thing I do suggest is going for a visit during the Summer because some of the best things in Des Moines are closed in Winter. Photo is of the state capital building. Even on a cloudy day that 23 karat golden dome shines brightly.
